 And that's because this is a very affordable alternative and yet appears to offer a number of really nice highlights to it. Has a nice looking design to it, for example, as you can see straight away, also has a really solid, aluminium finish on it and a nice setup that includes a choice of gastron, reds, browns or blues, which is the low profile design. The reason i wanted a low profile keyboard is the same reason. I wanted it on the gina 150 kl that low profile design sits really low to the desk, which makes it comfortable to use also with the getter on red switches that i'll be showing off

In this unboxing video, very quiet and comfortable, there are, however, some complaints that i'll talk to a bit about later on, but this is an interesting device nonetheless, especially for the price. So this is an unboxing video, i'm going to be showing you what you get in the box, which is obviously the keyboard, the usbc cable, some keycaps and a keycap puller as well

 Now it's worth noting that this is sort of pitched as being compatible with all devices. It'S designed to work with both windows and mac, but also said to work on android as well, i'm using it on windows, pc and you have the keycaps included in the box to switch between the mac sort of layout and pc layout. So it's quite nice, as well as a couple of other choices, for example the escape key and the lighting key. You can swap out for these orange keys, which i think gives a nice accent to it

Keychron K1 V4 wireless keyboard review - low profile awesome!

 I've considered using the K1 with the cable instead as it also goes to sleep every few minutes and takes some time to reconnect. Backlighting for the MX Keys is ok with it automatically enabling when it's dark, however, it doesn't work all the time.

I got the Logitech MX Keys and the Keychron K1 and I'm having some trouble with deciding which one to keep.

I'm mainly used to membrane keyboards so I didn't like the K1 when I got it, still a bit weird to type on it, however, I do really like it's slim low profile design. I'm fine with the MX Keys, however, since it has a numpad, the home row isn't centered with the monitor on my desk. (I don't have much space to move over my mouse either, though I could get used to adjusting the keyboard position every now and then.) For this reason, I am still considering the K1.

Regarding the K1, I got it with the red switches and personally I feel like the keys are too easy to press. I make a lot of mistakes typing, but I put this off to the fact that it's my first mechanical keyboard. Like I said above, I like this keyboard because its smaller and such.

Connectivity on both is wireless; I like the MX Keys a bit better with it instantly connecting to the adapter thing meanwhile the K1 takes a few seconds to connect via bluetooth. I've considered using the K1 with the cable instead as it also goes to sleep every few minutes and takes some time to reconnect.

For reference, I'll be using whichever keyboard I keep for gaming (Valorant, Civ VI, Humankind, Apex Legends, etc.), for typing up essays, and what not. I'm also a computer science student so I'll be doing a lot of programming on the keyboard.

Help, I've fallen in to the dark underworld of mechanical keyboards! 

I just wanted a decent keyboard, not a new hobby but it may be too late for me. Contrary to many folks here I absolutely abhor loud keyboards, doubly so if I'm not the one typing, and I discovered the Boba U4 Silent Tactile Switch. This switch seems firmly in the enthusiast space with no prebuilt keyboards using them. I'm now looking to build a reasonably priced custom keyboard.

I don't mind assembling my keyboard, even if that means lubing switches and all that. I am just still at a loss for what to buy beside these wonderfully quiet tactile switches. 

I'm pretty sure I want a 75% or TKL but I use the home cluster quite a bit and it isn't yet clear how I access the missing keys on a 75% or if that is a good compromise. When I work from home I spend a lot of time writing code and administrating remote linux servers via cli. The home cluster is quite handy for that. I also would really love to have some sort of rotary encoder to adjust volume. I could live without but I would miss it. I don't really care about RGB but a backlight of some sort would be nice. I can live without wireless but it might be added value if all else is equal. I also do quite a bit of video and photo editing if that changes recommendations. I'm guessing I want something that is plate mounted for structural integrity. The Keychron Q1 seems like a good contender if I can figure out how to access my missing home cluster keys efficiently. What other keyboards, kits or barebones, should I consider? Is there anything similar in TKL?

Stabs? I know I want a quiet keyboard and I will need decent stabs for this. Where do I start? I really have no idea.

Key caps: It seems like this should be easy for TKL but harder to find for 75% layouts. I would something with a drier feels that offers a little grip. PBT seems to fit this description. Shine through legends would be nice but are not a requirement. The most important thing is to have the important secondary functions visible, especially if I go with 75% and need to learn a new layout.

Also, what am I missing?

i want to build my first custom keyboard and decided to go with the Katana60 v2. Sadly I just found one vendor who offers this PCB.  
As far as I see is, that I need to solder the switches in the PCB. My problem is, that I can't exchange the switches without desoldering (which is as I heard so far pain). I also watched a video with a 'presoldered' PCB.. so that you just need to 'connect' the switches to it and can exchange them at any time.

Is there a Katana 60 PCB presoldered or a way I can achieve it so I can exchange switches easily?

Pretty sure he broke one of the switches in the keyboard, anyways Logitech replaces it sight unseen with a better one, but I'm wondering if its possible to replace the switch with something so I can make some money back at least to pay for some other stuff in life.

Anyone know of a source of replacement switches or maybe if another switch will just drop in?

 Well, what is low profile? You may be asking well, as you can tell it's very thin, it makes it light easily portable. It has a different style switch. Actually, as you can see here, it is a low profile which means that it's thinner than a normal switch right there. It just makes that the keyboard thinner easier to carry around take with you

So I had a choice between the SK631, the Keychron K1 and the G915 TKL. Since the other two weren't available in AZERTY I went with the latter. Needless to say, I am VERY pleased with it.

 Upon further inspection, I saw that the rubber feet were misaligned, and the aluminum body was bent so that the entire keyboard wobbled when you typed on it. I thought it was just a defective unit, so I ordered a replacement, which was even worse. It still had the same wobble, but also the keycaps had stains on them. I ended up returning the second one and am probably going to return the first one as well

I was disappointed with the quality of this keyboard. When I bought it, the switches and keycaps seemed okay, but when I put it on my desk and typed on it, it immediately felt unbalanced.  So there is travel on the keys and they do make a good bit more noise than a magic keyboard. I went through plenty of research looking at Coolermaster and all sorts of other brands and videos and this one seemed to be the best bet. After using it for a week though I am enjoying it more and more. The slim and clean design and the choice to customize the lighting to my desk setup makes it a very nice addition and not so cliche as the other usual keyboards

 There is a learning curve and a fairly large difference from the magic style keyboards. The keys are also flat and have a little distance in between them so keep that in mind. There isn’t the usual concave dip in the keys. All in all, if its all about feel and typing experience for you, and you don’t like mechanical keyboards, go for something else

Excellent RGB, but not totally perfect.

 It seem when I press top-down with right angle, I don't feel it but slightly off angle make additional frictions when I press it.  I like the shape and profile but this is very different blue key. If you expect standard size blue key, this maybe quiet heavy (for me, it almost feel like typing black switch).  Updated rating

Best for the money! Like that they are low profile and my kid loves using it for school and light gaming. I have other keychron keyboards as well and they are worth every penny. Only thing I wish is that I purchased the blue switches but can never seem to get them in stock.  Keychron, maybe I can get one in for review! Wink wink
