As soon as took it out the box I started noticing a lack of quality with this knife. First off, the blade was near impossible to open. Once I had it open the framelock was so tough to disengage I had to use a screwdriver. On closing it I noticed the blade was completely off center and rubbing on the frame

What makes this knife so pricey is the fantastic blade steel and "Made in U.S.A" status. Overall unless you have to have an American made Knife I would look at their Taiwanese and Japanese or even Chinese made knives first if you can get over the inferior materials

This knife is well constructed and despite being made in China I think it's worth the $25 to 30 being asked.

you get great steel for the price too, for such a large blade in S30V, compared to some other companies using S30V in their blades *cough* Benchmade *cough*, you get much more of the premium steel for the blade and the blade is pretty dang chunky compared to the other Spyderco mainstays like the Delica/Endura. The blade comes uncomfortably sharp from the factory and being that its S30V, it will be moderately easy to keep it that sharp. Ive cut myself already on this blade. The knife was sharp out of the box, and has passed every test that I've thrown its way. I can be hard on pocket knives, and I tend to lose them at work, so I have stopped buying anything expensive. The $30 price is about where I need to be, and this knife was worth every penny. If you consider the product description and the price, you should be happy with this product
