 So this ski, along with all the other skis in the Reckoner collection, have very high tips and tails that are going to allow you to land ski and take off switch without worrying about catching your tail. So this ski uses our Carbon Spectral Braid technology that we've adapted for Reckoners specifically. And Spectral Braid is a technology we developed that allowed us to tailor the torsional stiffness profile throughout the length of the ski. The way it manifests itself in the Reckoners is you've got a looser angle in the tip and tail, which is going to make the ski really surfy and playful and really be beneficial for your butters and presses, and it's got a much tighter angle underfoot for really high torsional stiffness and edge control

 At 112 underfoot, this ski is really kind of a do-anything-go-anywhere ski. It's wide enough to float and bust through crud, and narrow enough to be really pretty confidence-inspiring on harder snow surfaces. So this ski, along with all the other skis in the Reckoner collection, have very high tips and tails that are going to allow you to land ski and take off switch without worrying about catching your tail.  So when we developed the Reckoner 112, we were really focused on making a ski that was going to be really versatile and allow the more freestyle-oriented customer to ski how they wanted to wherever they wanted to on the mountain. For that customer, this 112 is really sort of the quiver of one, especially in more western locations or in places that get more snow. So the 112 and all of the Reckoners are really pretty lightweight constructions, so you do get very low rotational weights, which make them great skis to spin and flip on. One of the things that goes through the entire Reckoner collection, and I think is really embodied most in the 112, is that they're just fun skis

 I mean, they let you play around and do whatever you want to on the mountain and really encourage you to pop and spin off of little terrain features.

Powder/all mountain width?

 This is the K2 Reckoner 112. This is the second year of this ski. We get a graphics refresh for this year. Still that really fun, freeride ski, twin tip, freestyle influence

 Just a great overall shape and profile for soft snow. And at 112 underfoot, you're going to stay on top of a whole lot of depth. So not a whole lot of worries in terms of getting submerged on this thing. Going to stay on top, going to float really well, surprisingly agile and well versed when you're getting back to the lift, and pretty light as well

 Just gradual, pretty much the whole way up for as long as the rocker is. This is still not too dramatic of a splay. And then in terms of the taper, we do see that widest part of the ski come down to about here. So this whole part up here pretty much isn't touching the snow until it gets soft

 This whole Reckoner line is all about having fun in soft snow. This one being kind of the middle of the pack. There's a 92, 102, 112, and 122. This one is just a really well-rounded freeride ski, has a lot more capabilities than you might think given the width, but still just a really fun overall ski

The new K2 Mindbender 108 TI is no joke. I would encourage anyone to try to find the limits on this thing. I love these for charging long radius turns through subpar conditions. They grip like anything and feel smooth through super chunky snow

For this season with the touch of extra tail rocker, they're easier yet to throw sideways when you want to slash a few turns. Although the stated weight is reasonably heavy, the tips and tails are a bit lighter and the swing weight is super manageable

 If you're a big mountain skier, think long and hard before passing these up! I'm 5'8" and 160lbs and find the 186cm great for top end stability. If you still wanted a really solid ski, but something that was more manageable in tighter areas consider the 179cm.

With three of Volkl’s Tailored Technologies underfoot, be prepared to tackle anything the mountain throws your way.
This year Volkl introduces their 3D Radius Sidecut technology to the M6 Mantra. Boasting three different turn radii within the side of the ski, the M6 can achieve a different turn outcome depending on skier input. This new technology admittedly took some getting used to. However, we found the tech especially helpful when merging onto a new run with more traffic or exiting a mogul field back onto the groomer. The M6 Mantra is on the damp side of the spectrum for skis. But we can’t complain when the overall result is the superior combination of stability and maneuverability that this ski offers through icy groomers, afternoon chop and slop, and deep pow days.

On the heels of the extremely successful and well-loved M5, Volkl hasn’t rocked the boat too much with the new M6 Mantra. It remains an extremely powerful and precise all-mountain option that’s perfectly happy in the hands of hard chargers at speed. Volkl did make some tweaks to the Titanal Frame construction: shorter skis now have less metal and are a little softer, while longer options are stronger with more metal. You also get the brand’s 3D Radius (also found in the Kendo below), which effectively gives the ski three different turn radii. In practice, it’s pretty impressive, and the M6 feels comfortable at everything from tight and quick turns to wide GS sweepers.

It’s a close call between the M6 and Nordica Enforcer above, and both are versatile, standout models. In parsing out the differences, the Mantra is noticeably wider at the tip (by 8mm), and its stiffer build gives it the advantage in terms of stability. But the Nordica is more comfortable in tight spaces with its nimble, easier-to-manage flex (this also makes it a better option for intermediate-level skiers). Both are excellent one-quiver options for riders that spend the majority of their time on groomers or in regions with moderate snowfall.
