 Slow Cooker Mode had a low, medium and high heat button. IP has a + and - sign to increase or decrease the time. Others you have to select a preset and keep pressing to increase, you can't decrease time. Overall ratings - IP 4

 Lots of issues with lids locking, not pressurizing etc and I really don't see this for the Instant Pot family of PCs.  **Sizing - I measured my crock pot which was 6 quart, so that's what I ordered. It's an OK size for 2 people, but since you can only fill it 2/3 full when cooking under pressure you should take that into consideration. I figure on a roast, I will do the meat first, then veggies

 It's where it's got this nice thick area where it holds the heat in. This right here is the heating plate. This little thing is like a sensor that senses when the pots in place. So one of the things you never want to do, you have to have your inner pot in place

But I moved on from that anxiety, and I set about putting this thing to work.  The first time each of us used it, we felt what I'm sure every other pressure cooker rookie feels at first—the crippling fear that you're about to die in a horrific high-pressure home explosion, and that your family will always be embarrassed to explain that they were related to one of _those_ statistics. But, as I'm sure most pressure cooker owners do, we survived

 - 25 minutes cooking + 2 minutes decompressing (and filling the house with delicious porky aroma) - Five minutes painting on some sauce and letting everything sizzle on the grill.  Seriously. Delicious, perfectly cooked barbecue ribs—enough to feed at least eight people—ready in about an hour.  So yeah

It's true.  It makes a lot of things quick and easy.  And a lot of foods quickly and easily.

 The second problem is the little plastic tab used to secure the pressure cooking lid to the air-fryer lid. I dropped the lid and the piece of plastic broke off rendering the pressure cooker unusable.  I called customer service because I had registered my warranty and they were marvelous. They are sending me a new pressure cooking lid

  I have used an Instant Pot for at least 5 years and will continue to do so. I love this product.

 That said, I have two problems with the overall design. First, the gasket on the pressure cooker lid is not removable; therefore, it retains the odor from its previous cook. With my older pot, I could take the gasket out to clean it or replace it. The odor does not transfer a taste to the food, but it's unsettling to smell the last thing one cooked when using the device again

  I called customer service because I had registered my warranty and they were marvelous. They are sending me a new pressure cooking lid. They asked me to write a review on their site, but I couldn't find a spot to do so, so I am writing a review here. I made it clear to Instant Pot that there is a design flaw in the new product that needs to be addressed

Since I just received this, I can only rate it right now on what I have noticed about the appliance and packaging. There was a long cut in the box on one side and a gash on the top of the box. After taking the Instant Pot out of the packaging, the inner pot looks fine, but a sticker on the top of the lid had some type of hair/fibers caught in it. The metal part of the top also has fine abrasion on it

 The turkey turned out great.  The issue came when I went to use the fryer a second time the next day. I plugged in the power cord and none of the led lights came on. I turned the temperature dial and nothing

 You can fry big items and multiple items unlike the air fryer we have that you can only fry at most 6-7 wings at a time.

 Long story short I bypass the switch and same thing. I bypass both the safety switch and the thermal cutoff and plug the power cord in and the power turns right on and everything works.  Obviously bypassing the safety features is not a solution for this but it does show that more effort needs to be put on making the safety feature components rock solid and functional. If they can get these safety features working rock solid this would be the best fryer I have ever used

..we finished that second turkey and then Investigated the issue. That heating element got gross QUICK, so make sure you wash it between turkeys!! My family hid in their room that day until I was able to remove the finished turkey, cool down the fryer and air out the house

Quick, but not impressive

 I put a thermometer in the oil as it was heating up and maxed out at 361 when the green light turned on. When you put the turkey in the temperature never goes back above 300. The heating element simply wasn't powerful enough to keep it within that temperature range.  There's a reason outdoor propane fryers come out a lot crispier as they can maintain temperature throughout the cooking process

Very convenient but has issues

 So easy. Especially the clean up. No trying to pour 3 gallons of oil out of a heavy pot into a funnel anymore. No messing with the timer that wants to shut off every 20 minutes, or regulating the propane flow

 All easy. Clean up was so easy, I set the funnel and oil jug under the spout and let it flow. Then the rest of the clean up work was comparable to propane clean up. The design even left all the burnt up bits in the bottom of the fryer instead of getting dumped into the jug

Wouldn’t stay hot enough

It took so long for the temperature to get where it was needed, I thought about unplugging it and tossing it in the trash, but finally after an hour and half the green light came on, I lowered the turkey down into the grease and it cooked it perfectly.
