I loved my Zavor, even though I only used it about once every two months. I kept it clean, but after a little over a year, it exploded once while I was cooking some sausages in beer. It was a small explosion, steam went everywhere from the lid. I got a new sealing gasket, and tried again, this time with rice. It exploded again. I am too scared to try a third time, and since my pressure cooker is out of warranty, I am looking for a new one!

I loved the Zavor but the fact that it broke after I used it less than ten times make me wary about trying that brand again, although I guess I'd be willing to try. Are there any recommendations for a pressure cooker that is comparable with the Zavor LUX? My budget is about 150. I'm considering the InstantPot Ultra but I don't want to jump the gun since there are so many.

Zavor LUX LCD Multicooker Exploded- in the market for a new pressure cooker

I have the 8 qt Duo Crisp that comes with the air fryer lid. It effectively turns the IP into a small convection oven, I rarely use my regular oven any more because this heats up so much faster and uses less electricity. I probably use it less for air frying than just for roasting or baking things, perfect for roasting a dish of veggies, baking some frozen appetizers or baking the feta and tomatoes for the Internet-famous tomato-feta pasta recipe.

I have a 6qt IP and love it. Thinking about buying a 6 qt IP with air fryer. What's your thoughts? TIA!

Pros and Cons for IP with air fryer

 This thing holds a LOT of stuff; between it and the pegboard it sits under, I've effectively doubled my kitchen's storage.

where do you keep your instant pot?

 My only complaint is that the beeping to let us know our food is done is loud and too long. Ours beeps 5 times which seems a little excessive to me. We also use it so often that cleaning it becomes annoying, but we decided to purchase a second inner pot and solved that problem really quickly! Highly recommend for any size family, definitely for small kitchens and for any level of cook. Makes your life easier, guaranteed!

 Thoughts on improvement which may guide your decision:  If the lids fit into one another, as in stacked for usage, or simply stacked it would make storage better. Otherwise, make sure you have space for two of these, so that you aren't short. I don't see why the pressure cooker lid can't be more disc-shaped and act as the stand for the air-fry lid.  The cord has an awkward storage method and would be better suited if the prong housing bent at 90° so that while in operation it was more flush, especially, since it seems the major diameter is at the same height of many countertop outlets

Worth it mostly. Bigger than you expect. Too much for the average user.

 Replaced my crock pot, rice cooker, lack of dehydrator, and lack of airfrier. Don’t make popcorn in it unless testing your smoke alarm or trying to get guests out of your house. Shouldn’t have to say this, but don’t dishwasher the electric parts like the frier lid.

Grabbed this on black friday promo as it saved on counter space combining instant pot and airfrier. Haven’t trued the dehydrator, but both of its primary functions work well. Makes better rice than American rice cookers, but so so compared to a Zojirushi. Thanksgiving was easier with this as it saved over space and made air fried potato skins the MVP casserole topping and brussel sprouts crisp

Multifunction kitchen device that works? This must be 2020...

 Cleanup is a breeze as well - the stainless steel is easy to wash by hand with a soft sponge, or you can just drop in some parchment paper as a liner and not clean anything besides the basket. I also love that the lid beeps halfway through letting you know its time to rotate the food. All in all, very easy. The bone broth came out delicious as well - just a few hours and everything was done

 I bought the QuickCool tray, and it helped a lot, reducing the cooling time to about 40 min. After that, it was simple to lift the pot out of the cooker and let it cool off before heading to the fridge. Cleanup was very easy as well - just some dish soap and a soft sponge, everything came off. Because it's such an investment, I went ahead and bought the QuickCool tray and the 4 year protection plan, for peace of mind

I love how easy it is to clean the bottom and trays but wish the lid came away from the heating mechanism to clean it thoroughly but it's a minor inconvenience. I realized that the recommended times and temps in the manual are waaay off. I stick much closer to my regular oven's cooking times and temps and I found the results are more to my liking than what the they suggested. That said once you figure out what setting work best for your baking preferences you will be ecstatic! I have had this for about 2 weeks and I've used it basically everyday

 It is basically inevitable its going to slide out of your hands while you wash it, and when it does, its going to shatter. A second warranty is cheaper than buying a new one. The heating element is in the lid, which you remove to rearrange your food (see uneven heating). It is also large, glass, full of electronics and 400 degrees, so good luck finding someplace to lay it where it won't scorch or melt

 You know the actual part that does the cooking and you can see the handle different settings for time and for heat and basically the way the handle works is once up the things off when it's down the thing is or is gon na work, yeah and yeah. Just those clips are, for you know, keeping it from going up and down like this, and then you have on here just some quick notes, I guess of all different cooking speeds. You know temperatures and times. Probably it's not that easy to read but yeah it

 So I kind of made a mistake with the amount of time, because I was actually getting that from a recipe. If you go up by the manual, that's actually the it's actually 15 minutes. So after 15 minutes I did check and they don't seem to be too crispy. You can see some of the potato skins have kind of swollen up

 So it's at the max temperature yeah. I mean it's supposed to be 20 minutes for potatoes, interesting that the timer starts before the light is closed, but the heat doesn't because you can hear ticking but yeah so I'll close this and there you see it started so 20 minutes. That'S what it's supposed to take, so that's what I'll give it I'll check on it for sure just to make sure it's going the way it's supposed to. I see that there's a couple of wedges that are really close to this and doesn't look like any of them are actually physically touching, so it should be okay, but yeah I'll keep my eye on it and in 20 minutes I'll check on okay

 So you can just pull it out like that when you have food in it and you especially if you need to like flip stuff over things like that, so, like I said, I'm just gon na try potatoes according to their instructions. It'S 20 minutes. I'M gon na cut these five russet potatoes into wedges and fit them on this tray here and then we'll see it takes about 20 minutes. So we'll see what happens after that and how crispy they're, if they're, not crispy, like you, can tell by looking how crispy they're I'll leave them in for a little bit longer until you can actually visually see that they're crispy and see how long that takes okay

Instructions are lacking but there is enough information online to get you going. Breaded chicken tenders and Frys came out great. Nice and crispy. The frozen pizza I think was too large and blocked much of the air from circulating, will try smaller pizzas in the future

i just got my new cooker today and have not had a chance to use it yet, im excited about using it and i think it will help me to eat healthier and be very simple to cook food in, i was not impressed with the manual very much, it did not seem to explain specifically how to put the thing together as far as the metal ring and what it actually did, because there is a part of the extender that slides open and closed which has hole in it, not sure what they are for or when i should use in the open or close position, other than that i think it will be of some very good use to me, it looks nice and seems well built
