Didn’t really like the look of the options Ikea had in stock which matched the Idasen base and had no reason to waste the perfect Karlby!. Considerations. - You will need to buy some 25mm wood screws and washers to fix the frame to the table. - You have to measure out the central point to put the base

I made my husband’s desk with the Karlby (74”’) and two white Alex’s. It’s been four years, with 3 monitors, one laptop and stand, his PC, keyboard, vase, and a lamp on top. No sagging!

Hello everyone.  I'm strongly considering purchasing a Karlby (74"x42") butcher block counter to use as a desktop.  I notice that this desk is primarily particleboard with a wood veneer.   
My concern with this is that particleboard doesn't hold up like wood if it doesn't have proper support.   


Has anyone used this as a desk, and have you - after a year - noticed sagging or deformation?  Did anyone do anything up front to counteract this possible issue?
