The Trek Farley 7 is a quality fat bike with a well-rounded performance enhanced by a suspension fork and dropper seatpost. It's got middle-of-the-road geometry that performs well on both the climbs and descents, and this versatile bike is at home grinding out the miles on groomed trails, packed singletracks, and even some dirt trails. Girthy 4.5-inch Bontrager Gnarwahl tires provide heaps of traction on snow, sand, and dirt whether climbing or descending. The Farley 7 really sets itself apart from the competition on the descents, however, where it feels more like a mountain bike than the competition. The 80mm of front suspension really helps take the edge off rough snow or chunky rocks, and the dropper post gets the saddle down and out of the way so you can move around the bike. It is far more capable and fun to ride on dirt trails and mixed conditions than any of the other fat bikes we tested.
The Farley 7 isn't lightweight at 36 lbs and 11 oz. That weight may be noticeable on the climbs or over the course of a long ride and doesn't make it the best choice for racing. That said, we didn't mind the weight much given the amount of fun we were having while riding this bike. If you're in the market for a fat bike, we think the Farley 7 is worth a look.

The Trek Farley 7 quickly rose to the top in our testing. This bicycle shreds downhill with supreme confidence and comfort thanks to a suspension fork, dropper post, and gargantuan 27.5 x 4.5-inch tires. The Farley lays waste to snowy descents but also feels quite capable on some rocky and rough terrain. Not only does the suspension fork provide a comfortable ride, but the high-volume tires allow you to run very low air pressures to provide some additional damping. Cornering abilities are sharp given the reasonable wheelbase and conservative geometry. Despite its heft, the Farley reacts quite well to rider input in most situations. Yes, this bike is heavy, but its climbing abilities were largely impressive and are accentuated by incredible traction thanks to the huge footprint of the Bontrager Gnarwahl tires. 
While earning top marks in many categories, this bike doesn't quite get a ten out of ten. Our size large aluminum test bike came in just shy of 37-pounds with tubes installed. We didn't find this weight to be all that noticeable when riding on snow. That said, if you are looking for a fat bike to also serve as your summertime trail bike, we suggest looking elsewhere. Riders who frequent very steep climbs might find the combination of the slack-ish seat tube angle paired with short chainstays to be problematic. The Farley 7 is also one of the most expensive bikes in our review. That said, we feel the performance and quality component specification justifies the price tag.

The Average Fat Biker

 Um i have a renthal fat bar and a renthal stem it's a 40 millimeter rise. I think it's a it's either 35 or 40. I think it's a 40 might be a 35. I forgot, i've had it on there

 I we have no, i have no professional or any sort of relationship with anybody from trek. I just bought one of their bicycles, that's the end of it and here's. The bicycle in question: you see is a trek farley seven and i have ridden 150 miles on this exactly i got it this winter and did really good in the snow, with the narwhals on it and at first i was not crazy about the color. It'S called orange, but it has really really grown on me and i really like it now

 On my part, i don't think it could be any better. The manitou mastodon comp feels really good, really easy adjustment, just open and close, and it feels great it works great feels great. I really need to clean this. It needs a bath but uh i'll cross
