Something isn't that hard to believe when you think about house with this bike is Mm-hmm there's bikes three times the price here and those bikes are definitely not three times better than this one

 you know they can't take a matchmaker clamp, which means that you're a little limited in terms of your cockpit setup. and then the dropper post on this bike comes with sort of like the old style like top of the bar push with your push down with your thumb type lever which was a little antiquated feeling. but you just can't complain at this price given what you're getting.  I've got to give it to Ibis for really putting a new perspective on what we can expect from this category. All right. So who is this bike for? Well, it's an incredibly versatile trail bike that's just his home on long, epic rides in the mountains. As it is on a short local lunch lap, I have no hesitation at all taking it to the bike park

 It's a different world these days, and the building wave of bike innovations seems to continuously swell with no crest in sight. But the latest and greatest isn't what defines our enjoyment. And you know what? I'll be the first to admit, I sometimes get a little too lost in the luster of those new shiny parts. So when my buddy Sean at N Plus One Bikes asked if I'd be interested in reviewing the Ibis Ritmo Af, a sensibly priced aluminum frame trail bike that's been wildly praised for the last couple of years, I actually saw this as an opportunity to see just how things have trickled down to the very core of it all

 Still fun to ride. It's not just a great bike for someone coming into the sport, it's a bike that even a seasoned rider can have a total blast riding. It's modern, progressive geometry, can tackle all sorts of terrain and handle very aggressive riding, but it's also not so long in slack that you'll be penalized for approaching this bike with more relaxed attitude. The Dw link suspension design is known for its well-balanced feel and great climbing efficiency, but still sits in that sweet spot of offering calm and controlled performance on the descents

 It's modern, progressive geometry, can tackle all sorts of terrain and handle very aggressive riding, but it's also not so long in slack that you'll be penalized for approaching this bike with more relaxed attitude. Is the Ibis Ripmo AF still the best value in 2022?

Geometry and suspension are where the money should go, so I applaud Ibis for focusing on that with the Ripmo AF. All the Deore reviews say it works as well as the more expensive Shimano stuff, so it’s really just weight, which shouldn’t matter much for a bike in this category. A top end drive train might save you a pound or so—who cares? And the 4-piston Deore brakes should be great too, no big loss there.

The Ibis has a very good suspension platform and suspension components, although the other components (drivetrain/brakes) are worse than similarly-priced direct to consumer brands. Would you consider the better suspension package worth the trade-off on drivetrain/brakes? What are your overall opinions on the Ripmo?

Opinions on the Ibis Ripmo AF Deore?

Currently my Ripmo AF sits at 39lbs for bike park. Usually around 36 for pedaling season but I am 5'9" 140lbs with a fused ankle and skinny lets due to a motorcycle 10 years ago left me with a limp and a lot of pain so exercising mass/power into my legs is near impossible. I have the endurance but the power just isn't there. I'm ready to upgrade to something lighter and all around better

 most notably, it's about 10 percent less anti-squat That means it's a little bit more lively on the climb. means a little bit more traction. It also means there's less pedal Kickback over squarish bumps. The Nomad 6 is called compatible and the GX Axis kits come with a choice of a rock shock Super Deluxe air or coil and the X01 kits come with a choice of a Fox Float X2 or a coil X2 Currently, the Neuroma 6 is only available in the C and CC carbon lamps

 You can Chuck it into the steepest knowledge gel that you can find or you can ride it on a flow Trail and it just feels happy and at home. The VPP suspension gives really nice support. It's got good mid-stroke meaning you can really push it into the lip of a jump and it doesn't feel like it's soaking up all that energy. Means you can really boost it and get plenty of airtime

 That means for a given Rider size, each frame should ride approximately the same, meaning the riding experience is the same across the whole range. So 96 has got some frame features that we all know and love and they decided not to change such as the threaded bottom bracket, makes it easy to find parts and it's easy to install. We've got the SRAM Universal derailleur hanger, meaning you should be able to find a spare hanger no matter where you are in the world. We've got a boost spacing rear, we've got a tapered head tube

 We've got specs from the CR which includes a RockShox 7 fork and a SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain all the way up to the bike you can see here which is the CC X01 Axis Reserve with Strum's wireless shifting SRAM Cod RC Brakes Carbon Reserve Wheels It's pretty amazing package. The Neuromite is a really great winch and plummet style bike. Because it climbs pretty easy, it means you can get to the top of the trails and drop into the gnarly stuff you can find. It also makes a really great pipe bike

 I Made the switch to electronic on the road years ago and said that I wouldn't go back and then I hopped on stream access and um, I'm a convert. It's money. but personally again. SRAM Fanboy So all all SRAM all the time for The Nomad I'm I'm into it I Think it might be a little controversial though

 but like over 1500 vert. that's kind of pushing it. Yeah on this bike, Get on. Get on high tower

Yeah, what do you think about this bike being ceram only it looks like the [Music] um the CC frame Yeah, I mean self-admittedly I'm The Nomad is full SRAM but that CC frame is X1 or X1 axis right? So if you're balling, you're balling, you're an access guy though. I am I am I like it? Yeah

 Trail Like our local Trails It's super fun to just lap and it's so playful. I Think my biggest takeaways were the jumping ability, the stability through Tech and how much momentum this bike carried over rollers and Tech and cornering like this in Corners So well I was just slapping berms like it snowed tomorrow. Yeah, it was so much fun I Know I had the the distinct pleasure of riding behind you on a lap at our little jump Trail over here and it's fun You you ripped those quarters. Super fun! The learning curve of going from running my day-to-day bike is 170 160
