 The chain guard durability is an issue with other Huffy kids bikes as well. My younger son has a 12-inch Huffy and the chain guard on his bike is completely broken off.

 The chain guard itself is made of a flimsy plastic that started to break apart after only a few weeks. I would just remove what's left, but I'm worried about a pant cuff or shoelace getting caught in the chain and causing injury. The bike does not come with a kickstand. I knew this when I ordered it, but wanted to wait until I had the bike to get a kickstand to make sure it would fit

Fine while it lasted...

This whole concept of "Huffy Quick Assembly" is questionable. I consider myself mechanically inclined and have put together many things over the years but this thing was not good. For starters whoever assembled the front brake at the factory didn't do it right and the tension cable didn't have the end cap to prevent the cable from getting frayed like the directions showed. I tried my best to readjust the brake but it didn't work properly

 When putting on the handlebars the entire frame was loose and the internal piece the bars screw to came out. The seat locking system is ok but I question if it will hold up to constant riding. My 4 year old was devastated when I told him this bike isn't safe and we'd have to get something different. I wouldn't trust this thing with your child

Weight-wise you won't get much lighter going to a hybrid and you'll definitely lose some capability. I'm guessing by your description he's on a 24" Riprock, which comes with 2.8" wide tires I believe. I'd try a smaller rear tire before buying another bike

My 9yr old has started mountain biking and we bought him a Specialized MTB but it is way too heavy and tires too fat to enjoy riding.  I was looking at the run of the mill Cannondale 24 inch and the Guardian Airos, but I am hesitant because of how skinny the tires appear and no front suspension. Does anyone have a suggestion for a lightweight hybrid 24 inch that would be mountain capable? He is just starting into the mtb riding, so does not need tons of travel or fat tires. TIA

 We're back at it with another video, today I'm going to do a review on my specialized

 I've had it for a couple of weeks now, it's very muddy, but yeah, I just wanted to show

 Starting off with the handlebars, we have my GoPro case that is right now filming, it

 So so far it's gone 193.1 miles so far, how long I've had this bike for, it has a bunch

 of different versions, it has time, a couple of other, distance, average, max speed, and

 So now we have our, what is it called, yeah, our disc brake handlebars, we have both brakes

 Up in the front we have our wires connecting to my gears, which are down to my back here,

 my 8 gear drive chain, my 8 gear drive chain back here, we have two disc brakes, front

 and back of both tires, and while talking about my tires, we have these massive tires

 to show you a comparison to my fists, they're 2.8 inches wide, they are really wide, and

 now we can talk about some of the things that, well I'll start talking about some of, and

 we have these two little lights that can reflect little reflectors in my front and back tires,

 but and yeah, we, yeah, so I'm just gonna show you guys, now I'm gonna talk to you about

 One of the dislikes I have is I kind of pulled it out, but sometimes when me and my dad go

 mountain biking, these little, just this gripping falls off, and then we have to, it will like

 way more like out to here, and we have to stop and like push it in like that, it can

 get a little annoying, what else, and sometimes with my pedals down here, sometimes when I'm

 wearing my shoes, I don't wear like big mountain bike shoes, I just wear one of my normal school

 shoes, but they sometimes like slip off the pedal and like wax the back of my heel, which

 is pretty hurts a lot, it hurts, it doesn't draw any blood, but it still hurts, same with

 like along here, on this back part, it's not too, it's still rubber back here, come around

 and it can easily get ripped up, like here all I did, I think I might have fallen down

 and it got ripped up really easily, but it's still a really good bike in general, we have

 our forklift, no not forklift, for our suspension down here, and it's, the good thing about

 it is it compresses down and it helps you absorb big bumps and going over rocks a lot

 easier, but yeah, let's, that was a little talk about my bike, and yeah, let's go on

 So yeah guys, we're here at one of our favorite trails here around our area, it's only 10

 minutes away, we're not going to be doing the whole thing, it's because it's like a

 six mile trail, we're just going to be doing a couple minutes, it's really fun, flowy,
