 I've been using soft water and I know distilled water would be better but that gets expensive. I also have to dust my house every 2 days.

Overall this unit is excellent at doing what it is meant to do, humidify. It's quiet and does a good job of adding humidity. There are a lot of nooks and crannies to clean around. The problem is all the WHITE DUST that it generates

  We have two Crane ultrasonic humidifiers in the kids rooms that though not perfect either, are much more reliable (have had one for 4 years and another for 2) and and half the price! I'm going to try and file a warranty claim with Honeywell now... I'm 1 week over a year after purchase, so am anticipating a futile attempt and obtaining a replacement

This humidifier has a nice design but it looks like a mini trash can. It is a little too big. I will return mine, it is noisy. I try to use it at night but there is constant crackle, loud gulping and popping

 Don't make the same mistake I did and neglect cleaning it regularly - you WILL get ill. Also don't let water sit in it when it's not in use.  Also worth noting - It doesn't leak but sometimes, depending on the air circulation in the room, some of the mist will float down onto the surface I have the humidifier sitting on. I keep the humidifier on a tray and lay the tray on a small towel to prevent my dresser from being damaged from moisture

Best Humidifiers of 2022 - GearLab

I like the clean, sleek look of the humidifier. The quietness with which it operates is also a plus. Occasionally, I can hear the water gurgle but that's because I have highly sensitive hearing. However, it doesn't disturb my sleep in the slightest

  Cleaning the unit on a daily basis is important, especially for cool mist humidifiers. I only sanitize the unit every other week. The challenge with cleaning is making sure you get into the hard to reach crevices of the undercarriage of the water tank. You need a sponge and an old toothbrush to get into the tight spaces, being sure to follow the cleaning instructions as best you can, which can take a few minutes but it's worth the time and effort

 Still, it's better than no humidifier or using a hot humidifier which can make smaller rooms stuffy. It's also better than the cool, wick humidifier by Vornado I once had with 2 reservoir tanks on either side, which would also get mold on the wick.  I also like the low lighting from the power button which is like having a night light. The nozel where the mist comes out is able to swivel or be adjusted to point in any direction which is a plus if you ask me

  Using the unit is very simple. The only other complaint I have is that even on high, the unit struggles to get my room, which is not a large room by NYC standards, up to 40% humidity on colder, drier days. Still, it's better than no humidifier or using a hot humidifier which can make smaller rooms stuffy. Good cool mist humidifier

I purchased this for my baby’s room. This humidifier is very quiet and seems to emit a pretty thick stream of mist on the default mode so I have not tried the other modes. It is easier to clean than my other humidifier, but it does still have some hard to reach places. I would repurchase this over my other humidifier though so I think this is worth it

Great Humidifier

I am happy with the unit. I use a brita water filter for the water that i use. Its just tough to clean it after some time. I am happy with the product

Good buy

 I filled the water tank and placed it to work on the Low mist setting ONLY. The tank was empty after exactly 27 hours. Yes, it worked great, very quiet, and efficient for 27 nonstop hours! So, 40? Not in this world, no matter what you do to it. Of course, it will work even less on the Medium and the High settings, but I went with the Low only
