  However, the first time I turned on the second one, it was noticeably noiser than the first one. It also makes a rattling sound immediately after switching it off that the first one does not make. With this one switched off, if I shake it back & forth, I can hear something rattling around (apparently inside the head), which is not the case with the first one. Some reviewers have commented about how noisy theirs is, and this makes me suspect they got one with a similar defect

 If not for the fact that the first one I got had no rattling, I also might have just thought these were inherently very noisy. But this has to be a defect.  If possible, I will try to record the sound made by the first one compared to the second one, but in the meantime, take my word for it, the difference is obvious. The rattling sound was an obvious defect, so there was no point in trying it further

 Nobody should expect to get away with selling defective products and then hiding behind a "GOTCHA" "non-returnability" policy of which there was no notice beforehand about it being applicable to this specific product. Also, Amazon's system shouldn't prompt me to return it, only to (in the very next step) tell me it cannot be returned.  12/4/2018 UPDATE: After contacting the seller (Yes Shoppe) whose CS rep suggested contacting Amazon CS via chat (because Amazon fulfilled the order), they were able to over-ride the automated system. So if you get a defective one (or a fake one) in an order fulfilled by Amazon, don't just think you're stuck with it, contact Amazon CS

  But I'll try to complain anyway.
