 So thanks for watching. I'll include some shooting footage in here. Yeah, like I said, I've owned a few of these things. I seem to own them and then not own them for long because I always go back to bolt actions

 In my opinion ACR, in Canada at least because we can't carry ARs in the field, but an ACR or an SL8 is the best most accurate semi-auto rifle you'll have period. I'll show you I did a little shooting video of this where I shot a few rounds with it. I had just had an AR scope on this thing and I was shooting 100 yards in some wind so my groupings were about you know 1.5 M away, 1 M away with the wind, it was quite windy that day but I mean hey that's not too too bad

I've never had any issues with zero drifts with these rifles, I've had many of them, they've all shot incredibly well. HK SL8 Review

 Gentlemen, today we're going to stray from the world of bolt actions to the world of

 AK or HK snobbery, not AK snobbery, can't own those here, but HK snobbery.

 This is for all you HK snobs out there, I'm one of them.

 This is one of their offerings I've been around for a while, the civilian version of the G36.

 This is called the HK SL8 and this one is a designation 5.

 How you can tell the difference between a 4 and a 5 is the 5's got this weird rail up

 here for iron sights that go all the way whereas the 4 stops here so you just have the short

 There's other designations of these rifles, usually those denote not having a dual stack

 mag, dual feed mag for places where you're only allowed to have single feed where the

 We'll open this guy up though so you can see that.

 Other than that, let's dive into this puppy.

 Alright, as usual, let's start at the back.

 So HK designed this rifle with this rubberized butt pad on the back.

 It's quite stiff, there's not really give to it, but I mean it's 223 so what are you

 really going to complain about as far as that recoil.

 They have an adjustable cheek rest mount here.

 It comes with a certain amount of pieces, they go up and down, same thing with your

 length of pull, it comes with a certain amount of pieces for adjustment here.

 Most guys and most of these guns you'll find now are on the used market and those have

 been lost many trades ago and you're not going to find them just like this one, I got this

 The real owner never passed them on to me, he did pass on the original case and manual

 with it though which we'll have a peek at later.

 It's all glass fiber reinforced plastic build body.

 They have this weird thumb hole thing which is actually a hollow which I think there's

 an accessory that blocks this off so you can use this as a storage thing.

 Some guys like the thumb hole stock, some guys don't like the thumb hole stock, personally

 me I've never had an issue with it, it's served me quite well truthfully, yeah I'm a big fan

 You got the traditional style HK safety, fun and silent.

 Now you can actually change this out because this is compatible with HK parts, you can

 actually change this out and put a G36 trigger group on this.

 That said if you live in the States you could probably make this full auto and pay your

 fancy tax stamp or whatever you got to do, proper license, I'm not really quite up to

 date on the US regulations when it comes to full auto.

 In Canada you'd have to get the single shot one that gives you the standard HK pistol

 I mean I like them, I've seen some guys actually mod this and cut this stock and fill it and

 make it so that it's a little bit more comfortable.

 I wouldn't do that just because I'm not that crafty but you know for some of you guys out

 In good conditions, bench rest with a decent scope with a more accurate scope than or more

 sorry more precise scope than what I was using, I wouldn't be surprised to get half or three

 They have Lowthar Walter medium contour barrels on them, they're exceptionally accurate for

 what they are, exceptionally accurate and consistent, like you can shoot these things

 a long time before you can clean them or are supposed to clean them.

 As far as accessory mounting, I think that's where stuff goes, they actually have these

 mounting points here for Picatinny rails on the sides and the bottom, the gun doesn't

 come with them but you can buy them, HK Parts sells them and has them in stock quite frequently

 as do a lot of suppliers in different countries, that sort of thing.

 This rifle is actually incredibly accessorizable if you want it to be, you can change this

 out for a full metal rail mounting system for optics, it sits a little lower than this

 plastic one does because it doesn't have to have this rib design for stability, cheek
