 Hi Nick from Snowtrax, I'm a head ski tester and ski buyer and I'm going to talk to you

 a little bit today about the Head Core 93. So the Core range from Head are sort of well

 renowned as really good freeride skis and part of the emphasis of that is their weight.

 Head works very very hard to produce the lightest ski for skiing in sort of freeride conditions

 and they came up with the Core. It's been out for a few seasons now, very well received.

 Part of the tech in here is around graphene and choroid which is built into the ski to

 make it very very light. So graphene is the sort of world's man's lightest and strongest

 material known to man and they put it in the tip and the tail of the ski here. So again

 keeping it nice and strong, powerful but reducing the weight. You've then got choroid which

 is like a honeycomb structure through the ski and that is very flexible but it's also

 very very strong. So you get a lot of power without it feeling sort of like a blocky flex

 in the ski. It's just a really good sort of all round ski and we've always loved this

 here at Snowtrax, the whole range of cores but the 93 is the one that stands out. It's

 the one people tend to pick up the most because I think it offers the most versatility. You

 can go for the sort of wider versions that are 99 or 105 but what we tend to find for

 European conditions the 93 kind of just hits it right on the money. Great fun, very very

 powerful from edge to edge so you can find that on the piste it actually grips pretty

 well. You link it up with a decent binding and we've got a tack binding on here but you

 can also put a marker binding and maybe a griffin or something like that on here and

 it works very very well. Multiple times we've tested this ski over the years. Our last little

 venture with this was out in Scotland in some pretty good conditions. I'll describe it as

 variable so we had some fantastic piste and actually some really good off piste with a

 few rocks underneath which one or two of us may have found at some point. Not on this

 actually. And yeah it's just really good, really versatile. So if you know this ski

 from before you'll know it. It hasn't changed an awful lot, I've just updated the graphic

 So actually having just polished off that review and said to the cameraman we're done,

 I forgot to mention the Karuba Wood Core which is the most important bit of this ski. It's

 basically the Karuba Wood is very very light and offers the sort of perfect balance for

 being light but giving performance. And that's really as Head actually put in their catalogue,

 I think they put something like it's the personality of this ski. Well it is, they've got it right.

 It kind of gives it its characteristics along with the other features, the graphene and

 the choroid is what keeps it nice and light but keeps it sort of very playful and fun.

 So yes, I think that's a good way of saying it. Karuba Wood Core gives it its personality

 and makes this ski what it is. And it's remained unchanged. And actually one of the reasons

Definitely has some good edge grip for harder snow, but they're still trying to keep that shape in there for soft snow, free ride, all-mountain, bumps, woods, trees, whatever you want. This is that ski that's built to handle it. Kind of the overarching theme of the Headcore series is that they're lightweight and they're made with a Karuba wood core and they have a laminate of graphene, chloride, and carbon

 So the wider ones have more rocker and taper, the narrower ones have less. So as you move lower in the waist width category, you're getting a more on-trail persona type of ski. So at 93 underfoot in the 180, this ski is kind of blending, you know, kind of blurring that line between frontside and all-mountain. Definitely has some good edge grip for harder snow, but they're still trying to keep that shape in there for soft snow, free ride, all-mountain, bumps, woods, trees, whatever you want
