Hamilton Beach 12-cup Programmable 49465R vs Hamilton Beach 46320

After installing the #4 paper coffee filter into the basket, I programmed the correct time and then the time I wanted the coffee to start brewing. This was 10 minutes from the set time so I could have the coffee ready. After 10 minutes, the brewing process started. It took 12 minutes for the completion of the brewing

Now to the brewing process. It’s a little slow for a full pot to brew up (13-15min) , however that’s minor to how HOT the coffee temp is after it’s brewed and tastes great! Looking forward to having an alert mode for cleaning as a reminder after 60 pots made. Four stars for now to see how long this coffee machine will last! Hopefully years?!?!?!

What do you really need in a coffee maker? Good coffee, of course, as well as reliability, ease of use, and easy cleaning. Few things annoy me more than those high-tech coffee makers that have whiz-bang features that are supposed to make your life better but ultimately just cause confusion and extra costs (for the coffeemaker itself, charcoal filters, built-in bean grinders, etc.). I don't even really need the timer; I just stagger into the kitchen in the morning and push the "On" button

Some may not like that look though, that's why mentioning it. The front controls are ok, kind of lacking though. The display seems nice now, though other brands have used displays like this and they fade on brightness over time.

We've also noticed that the cone shape for the coffee seems to offer a better flavor when brewing. We've started using a little less coffee per pot as a result.

Because this Hamilton Beach coffee maker does not brew like the OXO did. The coffee is bland; I have to put it on "Bold" setting just to get some taste into the brew. On the plus side, the Hamilton Beach is easy to program and easy to fill both the reservoir and the basket. And even though the carafe is glass, the coffee is kept hot for a long time
