When I see screenshots of it, my brain convinces itself this is what Half Life 2 looked like, since the asset design is the same, just much higher quality.

Half-Life Alyx is incredibly realistic at times

 But some genius there at Valve decided to make the most convoluted, invasive and frustrating interface ever conceived in the world of gaming!!! Can I simply click the Half Life 2 icon for the GAME I PAID FOR and play? NOOOOOOO! I have to go through some online nonsense called Steam. One day I click the icon and I have the option to play in "offline mode"; the next day I can't play because Steam won't let me. What were these people thinking!? I have uninstalled the game and have loaded up an old copy of GTA Vice City.

 No way am I paying $55 for a game and don't really own it. Very stiff rental fee. I'll buy no more Valve/Steam products.

I have loved video games every since I was a little kid, and I play every change I get. However, I am so so tired of being the worst playing in my friend group. With a combination of strict parents growing up, and now my current life situation, I have a severe lack of total hours into games compared to all of my friends, which has left me a lot worse than all of them. I know it’s silly and video games are meant to be fun, but it’s hard to have fun when you are constantly weighing your team down in games like League or Valorant, and as much as I want to get better, I simple don’t have time. Just a small rant, but as silly as it sounds, this is one of my largest insecurities.

<p>Edit: thanks for everyone’s kind words and suggestions. I do play a lot of single player games, as I really enjoy story games, but I also have had a group of friends that I love who I have been playing games with since we were 13, and I like being part of the team. The only issue is that they are only interested in Riot games, and sometimes Destiny 2 (I would get into Destiny 2 as well but they are all super far into the end game so I would have a LOT of grinding to do on my own). As much as I do enjoy Valorant and League, at least most times, I do with they would branch out, but it is what it is.</p>

I feel like I’ll never be good at video games, and it constantly bums me out.

 It works but it's laggy; the responsiveness seems to be about 0.2 seconds behind the controls, playable but it's disconcerting and not fun. I will be doing cloud development and database work with mine.

Possibly one of the greatest co-op experience I've been having so far and still not tired of it. (I don't spend time with Versus).

+Weapons and utility items in the game feel so different and unique from each other; making each of them being situational for certain scenarios and encouraging the survivors to have different weapon loadouts from eachother, each having more advantage for certain conditions.
