Great Bay makes a LOT of flannel sheets, and we tested several different sets, including these from the Belle collection. They're soft and supple and easy to enjoy. Their 170 GSM weight is the low end of "heavyweight," adding warmth and durability without being excessively warm. They're soft without being clingy, making for a more pleasant sleeping experience for those of us who toss and turn. The 14" deep fitted sheet fits our thinner mattress just fine, though we're dubious it would be such a good fit on a thicker mattress. Between the plethora of prints available in the Belle collection and the many other flannel collections with more unique prints, we're sure just about everyone can find something to love here. And they're pretty reasonably priced for this lineup, too.
However, they're not the most impressively constructed set we tested. They're not bad, just about average for this group. Depending on how you sleep, "average" may be just fine for your bed. They also showed more pilling by our feet than many others, which doesn't bode well. We found several conflicting sources of information on their construction, with some saying they're OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified, while other sources didn't make that claim. The set we tested didn't have the official OEKO-TEX tag, so we're guessing these particular ones aren't certified. Still, they're a pretty solid and likable set of sheets, with a ton of fun and whimsical prints and patterns.

This sheet set looks nice, and feels nice, but isn't the best quality. When they arrived I washed them before putting them on my bed. What did I discover? Two corners of the fitted bottom sheet had holes in the seams.  The serged seams weren't properly finished off on end furthest from the elastic so the threads came loose

  This means I had to sew up ALL 4 corners of the sheet...on a product that hadn't even been used yet - the 2 corners with gaping holes and the 2 corners that hadn't yet come apart but soon would

I bought these sheets to match a new quilt. The color and pattern are perfect. However, the material is not soft. I have washed them a couple times, even used extra fabric softener but still not great

What do I sleep on now? 100% cotton, long staple cotton fiber sheets made by Threshold, or 100% organic cotton from Magnolia Home (both Target brands). I know, right?! But both brands make cotton blends, microfiber crap, or itchy lower thread count total garbage, so be sure to read the descriptions carefully. Pass up on anything that’s not 100% cotton, or anything less than 200-250 thread count. I used to sleep on long staple Egyptian cotton sheets, anywhere from 330-1300 thread count, so I was a bit huffy about ”downgrading” to a lower number

 So because of a very generous employee discount, for 20 years I was able to sleep on Egyptian cotton sateen, ultra high thread count bedding that would normally sell for over $1200 for queen sheets + duvet cover. I’ve even had two sets of 100% silk..

 Pass up on anything that’s not 100% cotton, or anything less than 200-250 thread count. I used to sleep on long staple Egyptian cotton sheets, anywhere from 330-1300 thread count, so I was a bit huffy about ”downgrading” to a lower number. But the higher the thread count you go, the warmer the sheets can become. The sweet spot for me is around 200-250

So I have a set of Ralph Lauren sheets that we got as a wedding gift maybe 10 years ago, they were expensive at least the "MSRP" was high like $300 I think.  I don't know anything about them and have long since thrown out the packaging.  The only thing I have to go on is the tag (see picture linked below)...

I contacted Ralph Lauren through via social media and they said they had no idea what model the sheets I have are, and the best they could do was recommend their current set of Sateen sheets.

These sheets are 100% cotton but they are super soft and silky - even from day one.

I have tried buying a few different sets of sheets over the years but cannot find anything that compares. Unfortunately, these Ralph Lauren sheets are starting to fall apart due to use.

Hoping someone can help me find a replacement that would be comparable!

I've tried the following sheets, a lot of them seem to be promising out of the packaging but they aren't as soft after washing:

1. Lauren Ralph Lauren Spencer Cotton Sateen 475 thread count Queen Sheets - these felt great out of the packaging but after washing they lost their shininess and silky feel.
2. Cariloha Resort Bamboo Sheets - these remain soft after washing, but the lack the crispness of cotton.  Not a huge fan of them.
3. Ghostbed Tencell / Cotton blend sheets - these felt great before washing too, I had high hopes - but after washing they feel like cheap cotton sheets, I washed them based on the directions - normal cycle, cold water, dried using the delicate cycle - I washed 1 pillowcase to compare and there is a big difference between pre-wash and post-wash.
4. Brooklinen Luxe Sateen - same deal with these, I followed the directions for washing and they were not soft after washing. I contacted them and they said to try them and keep using them and they will get softer over time - but I don't think that shine / silky feel will return.
5. Eucalypso 100% Tencell - I only ordered the pillow cases to try them and they remain really soft after washing, but similar to the Cariloha sheets there is no crispness to them the way cotton sheets would be, or maybe it is the thickness of the sheet itself

I probably have missed a few sheet sets I've bought over the years - but these are the most recent ones I've tried.

In terms of the washing machine / dryer, both are relatively new - and the washing machine is one of the high efficiency upright kinds that are supposed to be easier on your laundry. I dunno!

I'm willing to pay more for a good set of sheets that will feel like that Ralph Lauren set I was gifted \~10 years ago, I just can't find one and a lot of the more expensive sheets do not have a return policy and I can't bring myself to spend $450 on a set of sheets that I can't test out first.

Any suggestions or recommendations on brands I should try that might be better / also have decent return policies so I can return them if they don't end up being good after washing?

Trying to find replacement bed sheets - none are as soft and silky-smooth

I have a king set of Threshold cotton percale sheets from Target which have been much better than I would have expected from the $40 on sale price. I bought them as a temporary replacement for a $300+ set from Pottery Barn which ripped after 6 months. They’ve been so good, almost two years later I still haven’t replaced this “temporary” set.

My wife usually grab s a set of king white sheets at Marshall's but after a 8-12 months they always seem to rip and thin out

What are some quality percale sheets that Target, Tjmaxx or Bed Bath has that are good? How can you tell if they're percale?
