Kratos can block enemy attacks, but that same button is used to activate special maneuvers called Runics, of which you have light and heavy options. The problem is the reliance on using block caused me to fire off Runic attacks by accident. It's not the worst thing in the world, but an ill-timed Runic will force you to wait out its cool-down period. There's also a targeting system in place, but it has a tendency to handcuff

 HDR does wonders for this game. (You have the choice to favor higher resolution or better frame rate).One time my wife walked in during a really intense sequence. I looked at her with her mouth agape and asked "What's up?" to which she replied, "No, nothing, I just kinda can't believe what I'm seeing

God of War (2018) review: We don't deserve this game

 Enemy's stagger when their meters are maxed out, letting you grab them and rip them to pieces. Atreus&rsquo; arrows and Kratos&rsquo; fist strikes deal bonus stun damage, incentivizing you to use these attacks to supplement your mighty axe swings. As you unlock new abilities, you can charge your melee attacks to unleash new finishers on hapless enemies, accentuating the brutality.&nbsp;

 That said, God of War&rsquo;s story was written with sequels in mind; in the grand scheme of things, Kratos and Atreus's adventure is merely a prologue for what&rsquo;s to come. There are a handful of the major mythical players present in God of War, with the rest only mentioned in passing. God of War still has a satisfying story arc, and both protagonists grow considerably by journey&rsquo;s end. I had hoped to see more of the Norse pantheon and of Ragnar&ouml;k, but that isn&rsquo;t the focus of this story

The only combat irritant comes in the form of the Hel foes, an uncommon blue enemy type that resists your ice-based axe attacks. Axe-strikes glance off of them, so they can only be damaged with unarmed combat, or with your second weapon type that's unlocked later in the game. The problem with enemies like these is that their resistance immediately undermines half of your kit; an entire weapon&rsquo;s worth of abilities are rendered useless when fighting against them. It&rsquo;s a frustrating limitation that makes these foes much less fun to fight than any other

 With his young son, Atreus, in tow on this adventure, Kratos is forced to confront and quell the supernatural rancor within the boy, all while keeping his own in check. Watching Kratos control himself for the sake of his son, while also steering Atreus away from a similar troubled path, makes for a fascinating juxtaposition.

I just didn't like the characters or story at all, coming from dark souls i hated the combat in God of war so much and how repetitive it was and how close the camera was. The last of us I just couldn't stand the story at all, so generic. And the gameplay was boring as fuck. I'm starting to think I just don't like AAA rpgs anymore haha, or maybe I just hate games where you have an annoying ass kid following you around non stop

Commercially successful games you just did not enjoy?

For those of us who waited 8 long years to the follow up of what happened to Kratos after God Of War III your patience has been well rewarded in God Of War (Or Chronologically God Of War IV). My hat goes off to Both the Staff and Game Director, Craig Barlow of Santa Monica Studios for realizing that they needed to re-invent the God Of War Franchise but kept the previous history of the previous entries of the franchise, So going into the new game you can still have the feeling of the original narrative (which is mentioned frequently in this game) but move into the undiscovered mythology of the Norse Gods Lore which does not feel it had been retreaded (Basically where the franchise had gotten stale in both narrative and game mechanics by God Of War: Ascension).  Narrative Background: About 15 to 20 years in the aftermath of the events of God War III we find Kratos cutting down a tree to make a funeral pyre for the mother of his 12 year old son Atreus who had passed away due to unknown circumstances just prior to beginning the game. Shortly after Kratos had started the funeral pyre, Kratos takes Atreus on a hunt to judge if he is ready to help carry out his mothers last request to take her ashes to the tallest peak of the Norse lands for her final resting place

 Returning back to their home and failing to pass his fathers test a stranger mysteriously turns up at their doorstep revealing he is aware of Kratos's past and demands he turns over something that had been promised to him. After dealing with the stranger in familiar Kratos fashion, Kratos decides to go through with his mates last request earlier than he had wanted to, despite feeling his son was not completely ready for journey, leaves their home and travels to Midgard to complete his mates request and keep his son safe from this new threat. During the journey Kratos is forced to reconcile his past while trying to insure not to pass on the same mistakes to his son.  Game Mechanics: As mentioned in the description the Game Mechanics of God Of War have been COMPLETELY re-invented from literally the ground up

The old "Side Scrolling" mechanics with the fixed camera has been completely removed (It was already looking dated by GOW III) and replaced with a third person system, so be prepared to re-learn the Dual Shock controls. Leveling and skills was also rebuilt as well to not only include Kratos but Atreus, along with buying improvements for either character with XP or Hacksilver (The in game money) found through out the game which can be redeem through 2 dwarf brothers that can buy improvements to your weapons and armor

 What I love the most about this game is that it is challenging for even the most experienced gamer even on the easiest difficulty you will encounter a boss that will make it worth your bucks. I am currently playing this game on the hardest difficulty and currently seeing my buddies struggle with even the easiest difficulty. I am usually the gamer who passes single player games in 2-3 days. However, this game playing in the hardest difficulty, not rushing because it is such a great game, as well playing all the side missions can say this game is EPIC

 The bots are amazing and well coordinated to keep you challenged every minute of the game. It is non stop action and countless boss fights. What I love the most about this game is that it is challenging for even the most experienced gamer even on the easiest difficulty you will encounter a boss that will make it worth your bucks. I am currently playing this game on the hardest difficulty and currently seeing my buddies struggle with even the easiest difficulty

 Hours and HOURS of fun. Even in 1080p the game looks amazing. I have found absolutely no glitches while playing this game which is a plus in todays gaming standards. Combat system is one of the best out there

 The story is actually quite intriguing but I will leave you guys to find out! I would buy this game twice just to support santa monica studios. That's how great this game is! For those giving bad reviews because of the codes Review the seller and not the game. My code worked as soon as I received it through EMAIL!
