 All Review: Ghost of Sushimo's photo mode is one of the best I've ever seen, partially because the world is just so pretty, but also because of the unique touches that Sucker Punch added, like the ability to have animated background environments or to add a large selection of particles like leaves, fireflies, or even songbirds. Enemies have clear audio tells so that even if you can't see them, you know when to dodge or block, and fatal attacks often end like this

 You'll never get one shot by an archer who's five levels higher than you, or have to spend five minutes chopping down a sword equivalent of a bullet sponge. This system really impressed me because Ghosts of Tsushima's difficulty always manage to feel appropriate no matter what point of the campaign I was at. Enemies do get tougher and you do need to improve your gear by upgrading your sword, armor and charms to meet the difficulty curve. but the stat improvements from gear always felt secondary to the skills that you accumulate and the challenge always felt fair, even when I bumped the difficulty up to hard mode, which makes enemies more aggressive, but it never took away from the lethality of my sword

Ghost of Tsushima Review

 The one boss battle that sticks out the most (I forget if it was a swarm of birds or cherry blossoms leaves (probably both) would obscure your vision during a fight.  Even though I gave this a 3.5/5 stars; I'll probably play it again in the future. I'm sure there will be a sequel but I'm kind of leaning towards the assumption that the sequel to this game won't be on the new PS5 but on the generation after that

 Brutes, Swordman, Sword and shield, and Spear/Pole guys. You'll be able to kill archers using another of those melee types or by shooting your bow. This game keeps the combat interesting by having you battle with a mix of different enemy types that you have to switch your fighting style to match there during the fight. When switching styles your enemy will still be coming after your but it slows it down drastically so you're not in a bum rush to change styles

The items you collect to upgrade your gear is pretty basic and they have basic names like Supply, Linen, Flowers, Posion Flowers, Hallucination Flowers. There are a hand full over others but you mostly get those other items after competing missions

Great game. Fairly basic but has loads of potential.

 The Japanese island of Tsushima that they've created is spectacular and looks incredible in motion. Screenshots and even video don't do it justice; playing the game in real-time looks spectacular especially when traveling on horse through a huge field of pampas grass or through a foggy forest. Character models look incredible and are well detailed, although animation sometimes feels a little stiff or rudimentary (only when stacked against incredible mo-cap work like The Last of Us).  In terms of gameplay, it's honestly a bit shallow and sometimes frustrating

 It uses a very standard open-world non-linear quest setting not unlike Assassin's Creed or Far Cry. The map slowly opens up over the course of 3 distinct story acts, with those 3 acts taking place in 3 separate 'sections' of the whole map, each with distinct and recognizable geography or weather. The moment-to-moment combat and core gameplay loop comes at a reasonable pace and introduces new concepts, skills, and enemy types to keep combat engaging up until the end. It uses a pretty standard light attack, heavy attack, parry, and dodge system

Although not strictly crucial a lot of the combat relies on quick button presses to parry or dodge enemy attacks leaving them open for counter-attacks

It's good, but not incredible

 The combat is a bit more skill based than I'm used to, but surprisingly addictive once you pick it up.  So why 2 stars? Well it's just..

 Neat combat, pretty polished, but overall painfully boring. It's interesting to me, because this is pretty much my favorite genre of game, and I in theory love the setting. It is so dull and generic in every other way that it just sort of sucked the life out of me. After 20 minutes trying to play with half or more of that being dialog I don't care about it, it's just not enough to keep me going

TLDR: -- amazing in every way - you should get it. And if dueling gets hard, try running more!  Good: -- Game play was top notch. The duel system took me a few fights to build a winning strategy. And the challenge system was innovate and cool

 Absolutely top notch! -- Graphics are usually least important to me, but in this case, they were so realistic that it allows you to immerse better than any other non-VR game. Gorgeous scenery. -- Failure isn't a buzz kill. Getting bested in battle or any other foul thing to happen to you doesn't come at a fun-eroding cost

 Later in the game i was too slow for the ronin, but you don't have to call them out. -- Story was amazing. Won't spoil here, but it was so good it even prompted me to look up some IRL history. -- Character development was unlike any other game I've played

A Hard Boiled Crime Drama 
The story follows Kazuma Kiryu as a junior yakuza member who finds himself in a world of trouble when a simple debt collection goes wrong and his mark winds up murdered. Meanwhile, Goro Majima is living a ""normal"" life as the proprieter of a cabaret club, but is doing whatever it takes to rejoin the yakuza. What that entails isn't exactly easy. 

Fight Like Hell 
Kiryu and Majima can each switch between three brutal hand-to-hand combat styles on the fly to create the most fluid beatdowns ever experienced in a Yakuza game. Use Heat Actions to trigger violent special attacks, or pick up environmental objects to whale on enemies! 

Two Vibrant Cities Come to Life 
Kiryu and Majima will find themselves interacting with many of the colorful denizens of Tokyo and Osaka in some of the most absurdly comedic and heartwarming tales from the red light district. From helping a budding S&M dominatrix learn her profession to ensuring a street performer can make it to the bathroom in time, there are 100 incredible stories to discover. Players can go to hostess and telephone clubs for some female companionship, disco halls and pocket car races to blow of some steam, hit up the CLUB SEGA Arcades for classic 80s video games, and more!
