Just ordered one with Gateron Brown switches. I wanted hot-swappable but for practicality, I won’t be switching out switches ever.

k8 just arrived and im already in love... first mechanical keyboard ever...

Perhaps unsurprisingly, both Cherry MX and Gateron browns came out at the bottom of the ranking by this measure. On top of that, some experiments I did with swapping in more tactile stems confirm that the brown switches also have relatively weak tactile leaf springs.

 Preferably I'd like something with a bit more heft to it since I find myself registering keystrokes I didn't mean to hit just by resting my fingers on the keys. TLDR; Gateron browns feel too light, want a more hefty tactile switch.

Hi - I'm getting a Keychron K8 hotswap, coming with Cherry brown's. If I want to swap those switches out, do the replacement switches have to also match an MX pin profile to fit on the board? Or are the underside of switches standardized and its only the stems that are different?

I've read through the wiki and the subreddit and seen a lot of discussion about key profiles, but are there any compatibility issues if I buy any given keycap? (Aside from making sure that my caps match my switches). For reference, I'm buying a Leopold FC750R. Thanks!

I have a Leopold 750R with Cherry MX Browns. Sometimes I hear a squeak in the spacebar when I type. Every other key feels fine. Any suggestions on how to get rid of it without having to desolder or dismantle the whole keyboard ?

So we don't have to dedicate any of today's review to addressing any of that stuff and can instead just talk about the quality, the performance, and the value of the switch itself. I really wanted to do a comparison to the Drop Panda as well, but this is going to sound like a joke or like a little Jabba drop. It's not

 I was honestly shocked at how close they come in sound profile to a proper Panda and the Mk65 with the Abs caps. I still think the Polar Panda takes it in the Gmk with Pbt, I would be really hard-pressed to tell the difference and in a blind test both my girlfriend and my brother picked the Glorious as having the better sound profile. I think no matter how you slice that, that's really high praise for a switch coming in at 70 cents. And if you saw the review on the Kiwis and that higher pitch sound profile isn't for you, these will definitely fit the bill

Glorious Pandas: Holy Cow they THOCK??

  I installed these in a Drop ALT and really had to push to get them in. The general advice is that it shouldn't take much force to install switches (and if it does, you're probably going to bend a in), but you might have to make an exception for these switches. The lower housing has protrusions that are slightly longer than those of MX Browns. There's no problem with getting it directly into the PCB, but you really have to push it through the keyboard case to get into the PCB

 Nothing could beat them in typing and gaming. The issues came when I would have to replace dead a switches weekly. After some time I was all out of extras, and had to start re-using my old switches. I was never rough with my keyboard, but they still kept dying on a weekly basis
