 ( I have used both of these switches. ) In summary these are amazing no matter what but I would recommend stem swapping them with a different switch's stem. Anyway other than that I love these switches 10/10 would recommend anytime.

 If you want to use these switches I would recommend swapping out the stem for the stem of a gateron red or a normal gateron black. These switches are amazing compared to switches like the novelkeys creams. ( I have used both of these switches. ) In summary these are amazing no matter what but I would recommend stem swapping them with a different switch's stem

If you're on a budget I recommend the Gateron Yellow switches. I use my them on my keyboard in office and it doesn't really bother my colleagues.

Out of all the 'silent' keyboards I've tested they sound and feel mushy. Your better off looking at specific switches that are more silent. I've used the mx blacks before for a little while. Personally, I'm a mx blues user :)

I have just built my first ever mechanical keyboard and it works great. It is a TM680, Sushi PBT keycaps, and linear Gateron yellow switches which I am thoroughly enjoying.

I'm looking to try the Boba U4T switches (or the U4 for a shared office), on a Keychron K2 (hot swappable). Do switches feel different as they age? I bought a used V60 Cherry MX Brown few years back and just noticed that number keys feels more much more nicer. It's my first keyboard and not sure how new one feels like. Or maybe number keys feel different then other keys in general?

So I have the Magicforce 68 with Outemu Blues and it has been fine for a few years. I decided to pimp it a little bit with tape and foam and even put in some o-rings and it really made a difference. I know o-rings aren't universally loved, but they take the edge of the blues which I like. I just wanted to spice things up a bit without actually knowing what I'm doing. I've even ordered some lube for the stabs, which sound horrible.

However, I think I want to try different switches, Zealios v2 would be nice. I have 150€, maybe 200€ to spend.

I'd love a hotswappable keyboard so that I can change things about it easily down the line. I prefer TKL or even smaller like the 68 but I need at least two keys on the side like INS and DEL (which I'll map to HOME and END) for coding. I've looked at the Womier k66 and the Drop CTRL. Are there any (better/other) alternatives?

Or should I just buy a bunch of switches and just desolder the ones from my board and swap them out? I've never done that before, but I've soldered before and I'm pretty sure I can do it without messing anything up.

What would you recommend?

Any recommendations for a 75%/TKL keyboard that is able to connect to 3 devices (at least 1 wired connection) and can be used for gaming? So preferably high polling rate, low input latency and n-key rollover, and a way to swap between devices easily. 

I have two laptops for work which I would like to connect via Bluetooth, and one personal laptop to connect wired for low latency gaming (osu).

The only keyboard that I have found so far that is like that is the drop alt.  Are there any other keyboards similar to this or any reputable sites that builds keyboards and ships to Canada?

I'm undecided between the Keychron Q1 and the GMMK Pro for my first "custom" mechanical keyboard. One thing, however, that both share, is that they need a 1.75u right shift key and some 1u modifiers. Now, it's damn near impossible to find ISO-PT keycaps which I *need* cause I've been typing in this layout for 24 years now. I actually found one set that I like in that layout, the Traitors ukiyo-e, but it doesn't come with those necessary modifier keys. Anyone know how I might get spare modifiers without having to buy an entire extra set?

Hey so recently someone let me try out their switch tester and I fell in love with the Gateron Red Silent switches. 

I use my keyboard mostly for gaming and I like having RGB / Backlight because it's often fairly dark. Is there any good keyboard I can get in this configuration, with lighting and Gateron Silent Reds? Or a good recommendation for a keyboard with replaceable switches? I prefer wired as well for simplicity.

Going to fix my stabilisers soon. Anyone have input if keychron k2 stock stabilisers are good enough (im not a super enthusiast, but i just cant stand the space bar rattle) ? Or do i get a new one if im going to mod it anyway.

I had a very rough morning the other day when I spilled my black coffee all over my Ducky One 2 TKL. Unplugged it immediately, took all the caps off and let it air dry. After 24+ hours of drying, I plugged the keyboard back in. All the keys work, but it seems like several of my keys are "sticking" on both the way down and up.

Should i just call it a loss or do we think it's salvageable?

I don't mind buying a new one as it isnt going to break the bank for me, but it looks like all the ducky's are out of stock :(

I just got a cheap "Xtreme Tech LED gaming keyboard model XCA2-1012-BLK. It said it was led, but can find no manual listed for it on the website. I have seen wireless models on youtube, but not wired usb. Anyway there is no switches. Most videos said to him the FN key but it doesnt have that. I saw the scroll lock was on and it suddenly turned on the led when the scroll lock was turned off. So scroll lock turns on and off LED, but its all multi colored. Green on one section, then red, then blue. Is there a way to set it to one color?

I have seen wireless models on youtube, but not wired usb. Anyway there is no switches. Most videos said to him the FN key but it doesnt have that. I saw the scroll lock was on and it suddenly turned on the led when the scroll lock was turned off. So scroll lock turns on and off LED, but its all multi colored. Green on one section, then red, then blue. Is there a way to set it to one color?</p>

I got a Poker Vortex Race 3 RGB keyboard and long story short, I can't get my F keys to work without using the FN key. Looked up the manual and tried to do a whole keyboard reset, but it didn't work. 

How do I get the F keys to work without using the FN key? Having to use F keys during games really throws me off because I have to use FN as well.

Edit: Pressed FN + W and it fixed it.

Hi all, want advice on a keyboard. I traditionally use ergo boards (Kinesis Advantage and Moonlander). However, I'm looking for something that more portable. Specifically, I want the following features:

* Nicely fits on top of a 16" MacBook Pro board while leaving space for the track pad. This way I can easily use it on a plane or just a seat without a table when traveling. So definitely at least TKL or smaller. I want dedicated arrow keys and number row, so nothing as extreme as a Planck. 
* Hot-swappable
* QMK or similar firmware that allows for layers (I have different layouts depending on what language I'm coding in.)
* Flat or negative tilt. I'm very RSI prone! This seems to rule out a lot of boards that have aggressively positive tilts. 
* Good amount of key travel. Lots of low-profile boards seem to have low-travel chiclet keys, which I want to avoid. 
* Acoustics aren't too loud. Don't want to be that guy when in shared spaces.
* Strong preference for a (reliable) OEM. Limited time to invest in fixing things due to job, so I want the various purchase protections of a credit card if something goes south. 

Nice to haves but not required are any of: bluetooth, backlighting, VIA (or similar GUI), gasket-mounted. Prefer high quality for elements (case, stabilizers, etc...). No budget limit. 

Looked into several options. Drop seems to be reviewed poorly and need lots of time invested in modding. Anne Pro has reliability issues. Keychron Q1 and GMMK Pro have positive tilt, as do frames of a lot of custom favorites around here (i.e. Ducky)

Would appreciate any help!!

I'm looking to buy/build my first mechanical keyboard.

- 65% or close (small, but I want a DEL key)
- hotswappable switch capability

What would you suggest? Is there a relatively easy way to build this myself? I'd love to have a custom build. Really the closest I've gotten to finding a keyboard suitable for my needs is the ROG Falchion, but the switches aren't swappable, and the keycap sizes are super funky, really limiting my customization options.

Any feedback or advice would be super appreciated! Thank you!

Would like to stick with standard switches and keycaps, but I'm coming from an Apple Magic Keyboard and would like something on the lower side.

Ideally would find a hot-swappable board. I've heard the Drops are a bit lower, but don't support 5 pin switches and need a lot of work to be quiet.
