The attached wrist strap is of good quality, but, the single strand of material attaching the strap to the unit won't wear will and could be a problem - you might want to add a stronger connection from the unit to the strap if that is an important feature for your use.  The radio feature even with antenna extended doesn't seem to pick up stations very well - I have an older radio that picks up lots of stations but this one only seems to find one station and the weather radio feature none so far. Super Loud SOS Simple To Use

 Although I have not had a chance to use it as a portable bank I like that it has that amenity. The SOS alarm is very loud I've had the unfortunate luck to turn it on accidentally & that gave me a fright each time. The LED light is also very strong but we primarily use it for the radio in case any news is relayed through the stations. We've had this item for over a year now & its been very handy

 Every your phone is great and your phone can do stuff. We have the Weather Channel stuff too and the alerts that will come on when there's lightning or a storm coming by. But if the storm is really bad, where there's a situation where cellphones aren't working or the power grid is down, the public emergency address system is extremely robust. That was something that was really well done by government a long time ago and it is designed to work when everything else fails

 I just went through and did USA Texas Dallas and and I was it and the speaker is really good. Me: turn it up and you can tell I mean we're we're in that country and the antennas not even all the way up and it's very clear. the audio is really really good and when you go through what's nice is you can chain, you can check it. What I like is you can check your alerts and you can go down on the menu and you can do an alert test and then you can press it and that lets you set this up because on the back a convenient feature is as an external alert and they sell Midland sells a little red light

 These are just really good radios to have. Everyone should have a weather radio. Every your phone is great and your phone can do stuff. We have the Weather Channel stuff too and the alerts that will come on when there's lightning or a storm coming by

 This is not portable like this, but it does have batteries and the batteries at least at this point have lasted for a day Running this by itself and it gives you peace of mind and it gives you something to listen to what's going on before an emergency happens. Make sure that you go through and you kind of find the the 1080s of your area that in Dallas there's a station on Am called 1080 and they are really good at getting breaking news, out, traffic and weather and all that kind of stuff and that's just one of those that are in here and it will be easier for you in an emergency just to press button one two three four because if one's not working hopefully most likely one of the others will be working and then kind of get a more local human that you can listen to.  Would be better served mounted on a wall. Also, the sheer act of changing alarm times is clunky as far as going through menus and saving settings. Deducting 1-star overall for these reasons.

 I also have a handheld Midland weather radio but have that for when we travel and I wanted the stationary radio with the longer antenna for better reception indoors. It picks up the broadcast just fine and also has an AM/FM radio and four presets which I guess is a nice touch although I don't listen to the radio for music. All in all, for the price, I think it is a good quality piece of equipment and it is nice looking and I am happy with my purchase.

We live in Grnabury, Texas which is Southwest of Dallas. I bought this weather radio just to be safe and get alerts in the event of severe weather conditions. I also have a handheld Midland weather radio but have that for when we travel and I wanted the stationary radio with the longer antenna for better reception indoors.  We unplugged the radio (it works fine on battery), flashlights, water and a few other emergency supplies to the basement and made ourselves comfortable. Radio reception was spotty down there, so I had to occasionally pick the radio up and stand in a certain spot to get a signal (there's a handy NOAA signal strength indicator in the LCD display). After about half an hour the red light stopped flashing, indicating the warning expired, and we went back upstairs.  We found out later that there was definitely some rotation, but no tornado and it never got close enough to our home to do any damage; however, I highly valued the 30 minute warning, which gave us plenty of time to prepare for a possible touchdown

 Setup was simple (with help from the manual), albeit time consuming to ensure we had all of the alerts set up to either sound the alarm or not (thunderstorms happen on the regular and I didn't want to get roused every time one was headed our way). I made sure to set it to only sound the alarm on tornado watches/warnings, as well as flood warnings and other potentially catastrophic events.  I played around a bit with single vs. multiple counties

 About 10 minutes later the wind picked up and there was lightning everywhere, so I started collecting a few essentials to take into the basement if necessary. Then at 2:50 the alarm went off again, this time urging us to seek shelter, as a potential tornado was spotted about 20 miles away and headed in our direction. We unplugged the radio (it works fine on battery), flashlights, water and a few other emergency supplies to the basement and made ourselves comfortable.   In short: you can NEVER delete a code for a location, once entered, you can only overwrite it with a different SAME code (and not all 0's). And you can't have duplicate entries --- so if you've entered too many locations to start with and just want to pare it back, well, you're just out of luck..

So I've either got to be totally blown away and happy with an item or completely disgusted beyond all limits of patience with something to be here, writing about a product.
