The stock folds, and it has a fully adjustable cheek piece, not to mention it's able to fire with the stock folded, unlike the AR-15. It has ambidextrous controls for you left-handed guys out there

 You could have a $5,000 package by the time you're done. Just remember that this rifle is not for the faint of heart. I think it's a little bit too heavy, and the reason for that, again, is because when they primarily designed this rifle, I feel like they designed the 17. I think the 16 was kind of an afterthought

FN Scar 16 Full Review: Modern Masterpiece Or Waste Of Money?

 What's up guys, this is Ian of Stoutlaw here, and today I'm doing a pretty exciting review.

 We're going to be talking about my SCAR 16.

 I want to say that I've wanted this rifle ever since it came out.

 It's the little brother to the special ops service weapon, the SCAR 17.

 The 16 was also used by special ops for a while, but it was phased out due to price

 and some other things that we'll talk about in a little bit.

 In 2004, special operations put in an order for the SCAR rifle.

 They wanted in two different calibers, 5.56 and 3.08, with identical ergonomics, and so

 the SCAR heavy and the SCAR light were born.

 Testing started in 2007, and by 2009 they were issued to the Ranger Battalion, which

 was the first large unit deployed into combat with these.

 By 2013, the 5.56 version was phased out, but they do plan to keep the 3.08 version.

 The U.S. military is not the only military to use the SCAR rifles.

 As of 2015, the SCAR is used in over 20 different countries.
