Fissler Vitaquick 8.5-Quart Pressure Cooker vs Instant Pot Duo Plus 6 Quart

Safe. The Fissler had a 2 step pressure release valve so it's easy to release from 15 to 7 lbs, and then 7 to 0. Very safe. The first thing I made was Americas Test Kitchen Homestyle Chicken Noodle soup

Lots of issues with lids locking, not pressurizing etc and I really don't see this for the Instant Pot family of PCs. **Sizing - I measured my crock pot which was 6 quart, so that's what I ordered. It's an OK size for 2 people, but since you can only fill it 2/3 full when cooking under pressure you should take that into consideration. I figure on a roast, I will do the meat first, then veggies

If the vent should clog, a safety plug will pop out. The handle and the vent remove without tools for washing; be sure they are securely re-attached afterward. You can wash the metal pot in the dishwasher but it takes up so much space that I prefer to wash it by hand. You have to be sure the pressure valve is kept clean and clear of debris

I have used an Instant Pot for at least 5 years and will continue to do so. I love this product.

The only sound is when the valve seals releasing some steam before it seals. The pressure gauge (high or low) is easy to see and read. The only issue has been determining cooking times for beans. The first time I cooked them longer than needed so they were softer than I prefer for soup
