I used to love using pressure cooker. But it’s been a few years since last time I used one due to travelling, living in small houses etc. Now we are moving to a bigger house with a gas stove, and I’m really excited to get back to using a pressure cooker! I did some online research, and noticed most pressure cookers in the UK are electric ones which I’m not sure about. I found this Tefal secure neo 5, which seems nice and modern with more security features for £70. What are your thoughts on this cooker? Do you have any other advice on others that I can find in the UK? Thanks.

 Safe. The Fissler had a 2 step pressure release valve so it's easy to release from 15 to 7 lbs, and then 7 to 0. Very safe. The first thing I made was Americas Test Kitchen Homestyle Chicken Noodle soup

 The Fissler is heavier, more sturdy, and shiny but I have to tell you my Fagor cooks the same and lasts as long. HOWEVER there is a big difference that made me buy my own Fissler. The difference is the base of the cooker. The Fissler 8L has a base that is larger than any other cooker

 You can wash the metal pot in the dishwasher but it takes up so much space that I prefer to wash it by hand. You have to be sure the pressure valve is kept clean and clear of debris. It's not as intuitively obvious as the Presto; keep the directions handy until you've washed it a few times.  Steamer basket is beautifully made

It is easy enough to reduce the cook time, and the cooking directions and most websites advise cooking shorter times and if the item is not done to satisfaction, then simply cook with the lid off. I like the manual cooking of the stove top pressure cooker as I like to understand and control the results

Love Your RV

I love my instant pot, I have the 6 qt and now I just got this 3 qt. I use my 6 qt for my soups and main meals and I've been using the 3 qt to make yogurt and will be using it to steam my veggies when I'm cooking something else on my 6 qt one. I recommend the instant pot to anyone it's awesome as it saves you time and it's so easy to use. I haven't use my rice cooker nor my slow cooker since I bought my first instant pot three years ago!

 What lid? I dug the box out of the trash & double checked. There was no lid. I then read some additional reviews & learned that it doesn't come with a lid! What??? It's a slow cooker!! No lid? It works great for pressure cooking but I bought this because it says it's useful for several things. I intended to get rid of my 3 Crockpots, steamer & 2 pressure cookers but it doesn't have one of the essential pieces

 Nice, heavy stainless steel cooking bowl, pretty heavy duty bottom on it. Okay so the build quality looks pretty good on it. It says getting started, place steam release handle on lid, install condensation collector, back a cooker and they want me to put in, do a test run with three measuring cups full of water. Let's try that again

 Here's the yogurt. You can delay start it so you know you want to set it, you go out and when you come back everything is ready, you've got saute and slow cook and pressure cook. There we go I just guess it finished its two minute cycle, now it's in the keep warm mode. So now we'll just cancel that and I think from the instructions you're supposed to turn this thing over to venting, to use gloves or something

 Okay so let's see what, looks pretty good, looks pretty good, steamy, so we'll get those out of there and put some more sauce on them and get them on the barbeque, what do you think of that beagle, oh yeah, okay let's coat it with a little more sweet baby raisin on there, let them heat up and caramelize a bit and get all yummy, yeah, someone's losing their little beagle mind over there, oh my god, smells so good, yeah so they're literally just falling off the bone, they're going to be so yummy. Those turned out excellent, oh so good, hands out on her boat right now, wait until she comes home, got some tasty rubs, anyway so far so good with the instant pot, it's a hit with me, what I'm going to do, rather than get too much into an in-depth review, it's been done a thousand times on the internet, but what I'm going to do is do some tests with my inverter, this model says it puts out 700 watts or needs 700 watts to run, my inverter is a thousand watts so I should be able to test with my inverter and I'll test on maybe one of these 30 minute pressure cooking cycles and maybe I'll do like you know a four hour or so slow cooker cycle and I'll unhook all my charging, my charge converter and my solar panel so I'll start with 100% battery power and we'll see how many amp hours I lose running the old instant pot here, it'll be an interesting test, so stay tuned for that, until next time, oh I've got to give the beagle some, she's been losing her mind like crazy, a little bit of beagle stuff here, there, some of this gooey stuff, there you go, okay beagle, wait, ah, no, wait, sit, sit, good girl, sit pretty, there you go, speak, speak, speak, that's your best speak, speak bigger, lay down, okay, okay, yes, I'll have to see if the beagle approves of it, yeah I'm thinking it gets the beagle approval, definitely, until next time, Ray from loveyourrv.com, cheers everyone.

First Try at Using my New Instant Pot DUO Mini

 Hey everyone, Ray from LoveYourRV.com and today I'm finally getting around to trying

 Main reason I picked this up is I wanted something to build a cook meals in during the summer

 You know when you have to run your air conditioning it gets really hot and you can't use the gas

 I really love cooking with the gas oven and using the gas cook top.

 That's usually the way I do the cooking.

 I do most of the cooking in our family actually.

 So anyway what I wanted this was for the hot summer months.

 So I picked this up I think I paid about $69.95.

 This is a little 3 quart version, the smallest of the Instant Pots.

 There's just an anise so we didn't really need the big one and for storage purposes

 I think it's a 7-in-1, they call it a multi-use programmable cooker.

 We got slow cooking, rice cooker, steamer, food warmer and the big one is pressure cooking.

 I've had slow cookers and rice cookers but the pressure cooking speeds up the cooking
