It's very easy to split wood with it and there isn't a bad bounce back feeling when using it. The head of the axe doesn't get stuck in wood, either which I like. It also comes with a leather sheath, which comes in handy when you are not using the axe.

Bottom line: while it's not destined to be an heirloom that's passed down from generation to generation, easier to swing producing more one-strike splits equals more wood split in less time with less energy expended. If you just need to get a crop of firewood in to keep warm through the cold season, this is the tool you need.

I love my new Fiskars Norden splitting axe! It is well-made and feels wonderful in the hand. Comes with a lovely leather cover that protects the carbon steel blade that is extremely sharp and cuts right through wood. Perfect for our firewood needs in the wintertime and any small brush that is needed to be split apart in my back yard. I love the real hickory wood handle, which is extremely smooth to the touch

What garners the four stars is that the Fiskars is rugged, and I don't imagine breaking the head off for some time, if ever.
