 I assumed you can't return an open air filter so I didn't even try, and as a single mom I don't have spare money, so I just ripped part of the outer box off and crushed the outer edges of the box, squishing it in there until I forced it to fit. Even cut myself in the process. Can't wait to figure out how to remove it when the time comes. Will be buying the other brand the installers provided next time

We switched from the basic, inexpensive furnace filter to the Filtrete Allergen Reduction filter when our son started showing symptoms of allergies. We feel better knowing this filter can trap smaller particles that could cause breathing problems, especially while he sleeps

 Our dog is all over the house, so we know he could be distributing dander everywhere. But our cat sleeps most of the day, so we don't think he contributes much to poor air quality, except when he uses the litter box. When the Filtrete filter is removed, it's easy to see what it has trapped, because the media is gray, compared to the pure white of a new one. What a great feeling to know those particles are stuck to the Filtrete filter and not inside our family's lungs

3M Filtrete Ultra Allergen Reduction 1500, 20x20x1

not a replacement for Honeywell FC100A1037 even though that unit takes a 20x25x5 this filter is too tall. I had to mash it in there the same way an electrician mashes wire behind sockets.  I paid an inflated price for these wanted to get a really good filter for my 2 units and am disappointed feeling that having to mash them in ruins the effectiveness of the filtration action.  Debating voices in my head saying I should return these and the other saying its too hot to crawl back in there to send back

 I have dog's and these filters help me breath better when the air conditioner for summer or heater for winter.

 I know they are a lot cheaper in price than the major brand, and our forced air system seems to work like it always did, and perhaps the air is just as clean as when I used the major brand's very expensive filters. But I can't say for sure - I have no way to test them. If you want to save a lot of money, then buy these - they seem to be performing the same as the MERV 12s I used to buy for a lot more money. Other than that, the 6-pak is handy, and the box they come is very thick and heavy cardboard material - which I use for floor protection while working on our old house

What do I know?

 I will not be returning these but will think twice about ordering again. Perhaps shopping local is the way to go.

 These Nordic Pure filters work great and are almost half the cost of the Filtrete ones for the same quality  The only difference is the packaging. These come directly from the manufacturer (based on what I saw), so they're not packaged like the Filtrete ones, which I really don't care about as my main reason for buying these is performance and not marketing.

.  I decided to give these filters a try. They are affordable and delivered to my porch is much preferred to fighting my way to the big box home improvement store 30 minutes away.  I put the first one in and not 20 minutes later my wife asked me why the air smelled "clean"
