I assumed you can't return an open air filter so I didn't even try, and as a single mom I don't have spare money, so I just ripped part of the outer box off and crushed the outer edges of the box, squishing it in there until I forced it to fit. Even cut myself in the process. Can't wait to figure out how to remove it when the time comes. Will be buying the other brand the installers provided next time

I order these 3M filters on a regular basis. The filters work fine however the last two times they have come damaged I couldn't tell that there was enough damage on a box to cause this kind of issue. I keep my filters in the box until I need them because it keeps them nice and straight and when I opened one that's too late to replace I noticed it's damaged beyond belief and the second pair that I have to bother to return is also damaged. Now I don't know how they're getting damaged but they need to either pad the box so any kind of pressure doesn't affect the delicate makeup of the filter or if they went in damaged

We have a shih 'tzu dog and a siamese cat. Although shih 'tzu's don't really shed and have to be groomed, they still have dander. We switched from the basic, inexpensive furnace filter to the Filtrete Allergen Reduction filter when our son started showing symptoms of allergies. If you love someone with allergies, you will know how terrible it is when you can't do anything to help them. I wish these filters had been available when my son used to suffer from seasonal allergy. This is not a luxury purchase. The Filtrete 20x25 size is also a good, snug fit, unlike some brands that are slightly smaller. However, as soon as the evening temperatures begin to fall below 40, I find that even a new filter will restrict air flow so much that I need to stand on a ladder to feel any heat coming from the ceiling vents. When I replaced it with a cheap fiberglass filter, the air flow greatly improved, but I also began to sneeze a lot and can see more dust on my furniture, so it's a double-edged sword, so to speak. I love the idea of cleaner air, but my furnace company told me I needed to change the setting on my furnace when I use a higher quality filter such as this one. This was unexpected news.

One can even make an inexpensive quality air cleaner with an ordinary household fan and and air filter simply taped to it as is demonstrated by a Professor at the University of Michigan on you tube. Really a need for most homes in all American cities today.

These filters keep out dust, dander and pollen. At present, I have 2 dogs & 1 cat in the house. My whole house smells fresh for 3 glorious months. They are not as cheap as Brand X, but very worth every penny; considering all they accomplish

not a replacement for Honeywell FC100A1037 even though that unit takes a 20x25x5 this filter is too tall. I had to mash it in there the same way an electrician mashes wire behind sockets. I paid an inflated price for these wanted to get a really good filter for my 2 units and am disappointed feeling that having to mash them in ruins the effectiveness of the filtration action. Goodness, I don't remember my filters being this dirty so quickly in my house! This apartment obviously is much smaller in square footage, although I do have two Persian cats. Between my Honeywell air filters, these 3M Filtrete filters, and my Rainbow vacuum cleaner - it really does control the dust/dander in my small space. Lastly, I should mention that I also have asthma. I trust this product and will continue to use it

I have dog's and these filters help me breath better when the air conditioner for summer or heater for winter.

It is really so efficient and has lived up to all the claims. My house I so clean and healthy. I feel much better too about spending the money.
