Fender Blues Junior IV vs Peavey Classic 30

This amp is incredibly well built and I had far greater expectations for it having been a fan of the hot rod deluxe and the blues junior models but I was highly let down by the tone of this amp. The best way to describe it is that it doesn’t sound like a fender amp or a vintage amp. When I plugged in I tried to dial a good tone for the amp or even a neutral tone but It turned out to be a difficult task and when I finally got a tone dialed that was decent for the amp it was flat and when I tried to crank it up and play a tone a little more classic to the amp, I found that the tone was muddy. Pedals are a must for this guitar and the money is better spent elsewhere

Now days I'm playing in a 7 piece band with a horn section and at rehearsals I use a 30 then when doing shows, depending on the size, I go from one 50 to sometimes 2. I recently bought a 20 MH and use that when rehearsing with just the rhythm section. I found the 20mh to have a much brighter over all tone. These little 20mh's are tone monsters with a vintage 30! I'll be buying more of these bad boys! I've switched out the Blue Marvel speakers in some with either the Vintage 30`s or the Cream back H75`s
