 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers.  I hate to say it's an East Coast ski because it's not because 102 is really meant for a big mountain or wide open but it's really geared towards that skier that's looking for a wider ski that they can power and be confident on and take it out on the hill every single day.  So what that means is that they've made a titanal band that goes around the tips and tails of both of the ski and then they also reinforce it with a titanal band right underneath the binding. And what those two things do is one the titanal band under your foot is going to help with binding retention but it also helps with torsional stiffness and that power right underneath your foot where you're really flexing into the turn. And then the outer parts they're reducing that weight through the middle of the ski but keeping that power and strength on the edge of the ski in order to hold your edge throughout the turn. What Volkl does is they use a 3D radius in almost all of their lineups

 Yep just coming in at 1900 grams you know at the 163 length. So it's definitely not going to be the most forgiving ski out there or even the lightest weight ski out there and that's on purpose. This is supposed to be a strong powerful ski for that more advanced skier. 102 under waist you know is really teetering on that powder ski lineup but it's still designed for an on-piste ski

 Let's just see what it is. Well while it's heating up here we go. Yep just coming in at 1900 grams you know at the 163 length. So it's definitely not going to be the most forgiving ski out there or even the lightest weight ski out there and that's on purpose

 Volkl Secret 102 which is the widest in their all-mountain category and just one width wider

 than their Secret 96. This is a powerhouse of a ski that is really geared towards an

 advanced skier. When we look at the construction they use their Volkl's multi-wood core which

 they have come up with a great blend of woods that allow responsiveness and flex that you need

 from the construction of your ski. On top of that they layer that with their titanal band

 construction. This is the same construction as last year. They've not adapted the tailored

 metal yet to the 102 width like they have in the 96 Secret. So what that means is that they've

 made a titanal band that goes around the tips and tails of both of the ski and then they also
