 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent). With two layers of Titanal surrounding a lightweight poplar/paulownia core, the Dictator 2.0X has been built with strength and stability in mind and delivers excellent edge hold if you fully commit to the carve.

 There's really not much tail rocker back there whatsoever. Just a tiny little bit of rise in this ski, but then very squared, flat tail, inspired by a race ski for sure. And then up here in the tip, we get a little bit more tip rocker than tail rocker, really helping to smooth out turn initiation. Just gives this ski a really good tip in performance

 You don't see it in the sidewall construction. The construction of this ski is a little bit different than those TI80 and the Bold models. And the performance of this ski is kind of relying more on tri-axial fiberglass that's woven through the ski. Very proven material in skis, gives good vibration damping, good torsional stiffness, but doesn't have the weight of metal

 But with ski performance, it's not really that cut and dry. Sometimes you really have to think about the intention and the performance of each model and think about what's right for you, what's most beneficial for you as a skier. And I think there's a lot of people out there where this ski is going to be more beneficial than those stiffer, heavier skis. So that's the S-Force FX80 from Salomon

 It doesn't feel like it needs to go like 40 miles an hour to come alive. It performs really well at moderate speeds, on moderate pitches, stuff like that. So say you're exploring the whole mountain and you don't ski super, super fast, this may actually be a better choice, even though you know, it's not at the top of the line. I think sometimes as consumers, it's easy for us to think like, that one's the best because it's at the top

 Right here we've got the Salomon S-Force FX80.

 This ski takes the performance and the characteristics of kind of the flagship S-Force models, the

 Bold and the TI80 and repackages it with a slightly different construction, makes it

 a little bit more approachable for a less aggressive skier or maybe somebody in the

 So definitely still in the kind of crossover frontside slash all-mountain category at

 Pretty much everything else about the ski, its shape, its design elements, all that kind

 of stuff, does lean more towards the carving side of things than versatility.

 It's not like a super versatile all-mountain ski, but it's a fantastic wide carving ski.

 So we get a popular wood core in this ski.

 Unlike the Bold and the TI80, you don't get two sheets of metal in this ski.

 Salomon still lists it in their catalog as having a single metal laminate.

 You don't see it in the sidewall construction.

 The construction of this ski is a little bit different than those TI80 and the Bold models.

 And the performance of this ski is kind of relying more on tri-axial fiberglass that's

 a lot of characteristics with the Bold and the TI80.

 You don't get quite as much power, you don't get quite as much vibration damping out of

 So it's not quite as tiring, it's a little easier to manipulate.

 And those two things are really valuable characteristics for a less aggressive skier or somebody kind

 of in the intermediate ability level range.

 Say you're still working on your carving turns, you know, you don't feel like you've perfected

 I think this is a really, really good ski for a skier like that.

 Or you know, you have very accomplished technique, you're a really good skier, but you don't

 You know, you don't need the two sheets of metal in those stiffer, heavier models.

 This ski may be a better choice for you, a little bit more responsiveness at slower speeds.

 It doesn't feel like it needs to go like 40 miles an hour to come alive.

 It performs really well at moderate speeds, on moderate pitches, stuff like that.
