 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent). With two layers of Titanal surrounding a lightweight poplar/paulownia core, the Dictator 2.0X has been built with strength and stability in mind and delivers excellent edge hold if you fully commit to the carve.

 Basically what they're doing is they're using basically longitudinal strips of fibers that are connected to a visco rubber material in this portion of the ski. So these fibers kind of catch the unwanted vibrations up here in the tip. So say you hit some chundery snow up here in the tip, it's then dissipated. The energy, the vibrations are dissipated into that rubber, so you feel almost nothing by the time they reach your feet

 So the rocker profile is more consistent with the previous generation of experience skis. So like I said, kind of blending the two shapes that they've used in the past. The result is a ski that's really responsive on groomers, has great edge grip, has great power, but when you take it off trail or when you need to exit a carving turn, get the ski to slip and smear, the edge release is easier. So it's not only blending the shapes of the previous two experience skis or the previous two shapes that they've used, it's also kind of blending the performance

 So now we're going back to extended side cut, or what Rossignol calls all trail side cut. So long effective edge on groomer, the same shape in the tip and the tail, the widest portion of the ski is right here at the end. That means on a groomer, on firm snow, you're getting a long effective edge, a lot of purchase, a lot of stability, and a really good connection to the surface. When we look at the rocker profile, sorry for slamming the ski into the bench there, we get a little bit more rocker than we saw in those original skis

 Right here we've got the brand new Rossignol Experience 82 TI.

 This is one of two skis in Rossignol's new Experience line that uses metal, so it has

 I'd say this one especially, but I think the whole line in general too, leans more towards

 the carving side of the performance spectrum than ever before.

 Still a versatile ski, 82 millimeters underfoot, you know, we're kind of blurring the lines

 between a frontside carver and an all-mountain ski.

 I think this falls more into the all-mountain category, but like I said, within that category

 it leans more towards the carving side of the spectrum.

 You've got a poplar wood core in these skis.

 We get two sheets of horizontally laminated titanal metal, so that's different than the

 skis they're replacing that use those vertical strips of metal.

 Gives the ski a little bit more of a damp feel, a little quieter, more of that traditional

 We also get drive tip solution, which is new for Rossignol for this year.
