 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent). With two layers of Titanal surrounding a lightweight poplar/paulownia core, the Dictator 2.0X has been built with strength and stability in mind and delivers excellent edge hold if you fully commit to the carve.          

 All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2.0X responds.

 They are far more forgiving, so if you have a little wobble or if you want to have a slower day like we have today, these will absolutely allow you to have a bit of a slower day. You can play around on these a little bit more. Certainly not as solid in the hard, fast, aggressive turns, you do feel these shaking around a little more than the RC1s. If I had to buy just one pair of skis, probably would be these, the F18 Progressors

 If you have the luxury of both, fantastic, go for both, but if you could just have one, these ones will give you a good 7 out of 10 for hard, fast skiing, whereas the RC1 will give you a 10 out of 10 for fast, aggressive skiing, but these will give you a 10 out of 10 all-round ski, where the RC1 will drop a few points in all-round ski.  So today, a little bit different, we're going to go for these, the Fischer F18 Progressor Skis. Yesterday we trialled the RC1s, the very sporty RC1s. These ones should give me a little bit more freedom to play a bit on the piece. They're still a racy, sporty piece ski for fast, aggressive turns

Fischer Progressor F18 Skis with Bindings

 I've just got off the new Fischer Progressor F18s, it's a nice sunny morning here but the piece is still nice and firm. On the slightly steeper slopes the F18's brilliant at just controlling your speed. The nice soft tips just allow you to control your turn shape. When I got it onto something a bit more gentle, a bit more shallow, you could really open it up and the nice stiff tails give you all the support, all the oomph that you needed out of the turn

 It represents great value for money. It uses a dual radius side cut so in the tip it's got a much tighter side cut so it makes it nice and quick and responsive into the turn but underneath the foot it's a little longer so it makes it nice and stable through the middle to the end of the turn. It uses air tech so it uses strategically milled channels out of the base of the core just to keep the core lightweight, keep the ski nice and playful, nice and manoeuvrable but without affecting the structural integrity of the ski at all. It uses carbon text too so carbon is weaved across the core and it just improves power down to the ski's edge, increases the ski's ability to dampen vibrations and just keeps the responsiveness levels up too

Also it's got a slightly thinned out profile towards the ski's edge, they call it razor shape. Basically it's just reducing weight at the ski's edges, again just improving the agility of the ski and the handling

 This is the Fischer Progressor F18. A lot of our testers were surprised how well it handled for the price point at only £495. It represents great value for money. It uses a dual radius side cut so in the tip it's got a much tighter side cut so it makes it nice and quick and responsive into the turn but underneath the foot it's a little longer so it makes it nice and stable through the middle to the end of the turn

The Progressor F18 is an incredibly lively, responsive and light piste ski that seems to turn in the blink of an eye and just loves to hold an edge and ride a clean carve. The Dual Radius System uses a tighter radius at the tip for easy turn initiation and a longer radius underfoot for better balance, this works in harmony with the tip rocker and camber. Lightness comes from the Air Tec milling out specific areas of the core and the Carbon Tex fibres that add strength with no excess weight.

Tester’s comments: Benj (Castleford) Its ability to offer such strong performance and grip for a light ski is impressive. It’s playful but surprisingly strong, perfect for advanced piste skiers not wanting all out power.
