but looks like no matter how many times i tried, i always can't get the hang on how to make a turn properly (when to release acceleration button/ when and how to hit the brake), always will go off track if too fast, or being way way too slow to not get off track. my car will be uncontrollable because i can't handle the turn properly, especially if it's a sharper turn. i tried various games over the years, need for speed, GT sport, asetto corsa comp, F1 2020, and most recently forza horizon 5, dirt. all the same result, quite frustrated because i really want to enjoy playing racing games

r/SimRacing Super Thread 2 | A one-stop guide for new and veteran sim racers

Be aware that F1 2020 plays horribly on a wheel with the default configuration. It’s not a bad game, you just need to go into the settings and adjust the figure for ‘wheel rotation’ down to something like (IIRC) 540 degrees. To test if you’ve got the right number, just go into cockpit view and see if the driver’s hands and arms match the position of your own. Adjust as needed and repeat

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Review

 The girl at that fateful Japan Club meeting had clobbered the nail on the head. The fatness of the line between cutscene and gameplay was far too great, even in a demo. Nobody in that room didn't see it most of us just didn't, say anything. Furthermore, the battle scenes used realistically proportioned characters, while the traversal segments used lower polygons, chibi character models, the actual game showcased more than one flavor of graphical disparity, even between cutscenes, some cutscenes used to the fanciest CG models

 I arranged those notes into a rough review outline then I divided my captured video footage of 96 hours of gameplay into Adobe Premiere sequences, representing what I have ascertained to be the stages of a game. I spent seven 12-hour days watching and re watching the most important sequences of that footage for the sake of the Final Fantasy 7 remake, for example, I scrutinized two full playthroughs, my first and my fourth, while watching, I separate each sequence of video footage into color-coded channels, Representing different varieties of moment, this allows me to then easily compose what I call a structure Atlas, while color coding each sequence of footage. I take extensive log notes. I refer back and forth between the log notes and my rough script outline

 You might find exciting moments. Textured, interestingly, and a likable cast of characters. We'Ve got Cloud Strife, a cold-hearted jerk with a big sword, a particular set of skills and a mysterious need for money. We'Ve gotten Barrett Wallace, a tree-hugging corporation hating, noble terrorists, with a gun for an arm who hires cloud for a job

 The original managed to pull this off with toaster handed Lego dolls. The remake holds harder thanks to formal advancements such as bigger graphics and voice, acting even on the molecular level. The makers of the Final Fantasy 7 remake have tenderly placed story first, for example early in the game at the end of one routine battle or another cloud. Might reject Barrett's thinly veiled fishing for a compliment; musta missed it

ACTION BUTTON REVIEWS The Final Fantasy VII Remake

 Sony has been shifting to a more "active" style system since FFXII. This was far better than FFXV, but not really for me. Recklessly mashing or holding the attack button will either get your entire party killed or have you dispensing copious amounts of Phoenix Down revival potions. Strategy and tactics are crucial to surviving battles (relatively) unscathed

In contrast to its turn-based predecessor, Final Fantasy VII Remake features real-time combat. Skills learned in titles like Devil May Cry 5, God of War, or any other modern action game will prove useful in battle. Dodging and blocking are every bit as important as attacking.  If you die in battle, you likely did something wrong. However, the fighting has flaws. There are times when enemies leave you defenseless by assailing you with successive unblockable attacks. It's frustrating to get knocked out of a healing spell during crucial moments, too

 Other sections may have you unclogging a sewer drainage system or removing components from a robotic boss before you face it. You can drive a motorcycle during two action-packed sequences. Suffice it to say, Final Fantasy VII Remake provides a diversity of gameplay that&rsquo;s often lacking in modern-day JRPGs.

 Today's modern RPG masterpieces are a different breed, but when it comes to storyline and enjoyment the dated classic FF7 still remains at the top of my list.  With the prequalifiers out of the way:  The story is really padded out - in script, in the time it takes to complete missions, and in side-quests. This seems mostly because the world had to be rebuilt in 3D and they needed to justify all that work. It's not an open-world however, you're limited to specific areas and those areas have various uninspired side-quests

 The real-time combat doesn't really give you enough time to manage your characters and choose actions. The 'classic' mode is more like a turn-based system (but not). But it's also set to easy difficulty, so it requires very little beyond button mashing for most encounters.  Not being able to use summons when you want to is annoying

 (which should give you an idea of how much extra story padding there is in this game compared to the original)  I'm a big fan of the original. I continue to think it was one of the best RPGs I've played. Today's modern RPG masterpieces are a different breed, but when it comes to storyline and enjoyment the dated classic FF7 still remains at the top of my list.
