 Maybe I missed it, but I didn't notice that it had geofencing Which is geofencing is like when you can set the camera up so that when you leave the house It'll turn it on or off in terms of like it getting notifications or just being in use I didn't notice it had that if it has it I'm sorry, but I didn't notice it had it otherwise. I absolutely love this camera It basically has infinite battery life due to that solar connection has that solar panel It is constantly charging with the Sun obviously at night It's not but it has battery back up in there. So it's always going to be fully charged Basically, no matter what as long as it's a sunny day or it's getting some kind of solar power You're gonna have infinite battery life. The other great thing about this is it just works great Don't need a hub You just set it up on its own and no hubs required everything is stored either locally or to the cloud The app is really easy to use the price

 Hello guys, Lifehackster here. Well, today we are going to check and test out Eufy's SoloCam S40. Another stand-alone wireless, battery-powered WiFi camera that has a spotlight and one unique feature is that it has an integrated solar panel, which is located on top of the camera. So, this is an all-in-one WiFi camera and depending where you are installing this and how long it can be exposed to the sun for charging this camera, it can run day in and day out all year round without needing to be recharged

 And it is going to stay here for now and I will be doing update videos on this in my future videos, especially to check how efficient is its solar charging. For now, since I did all my testing in my backyard, battery life was down to 97% before I installed it in my front garage area. And within an hour of full sun, it was back to 100%. If I have any complaints about this camera, it is going to be the generic mount that Eufy decided to include with this camera

This is the sixth or seventh Eufy camera we've purchased, and the second SoloCam S40. Overall, this is a good camera with one serious shortcoming (depending on your needs).  The video quality is good, what you would expect from a typical security camera today. Night vision seems quite good in my situations

One of the S40 cameras gets full sun all day long, while the other gets only afternoon sun since it is mounted on a back porch post and doesn't see sun until sometime after noon

 That is key: the issues are likely due to the cameras being battery operated and thus not being able to constantly record 24/7 without quickly getting drained. I suspect that their wired models may offer constant recording and pre-buffering since power would no longer be a limitation. So, we may purchase or evaluate the highly-rated Eufy Floodlight Cam 2 Pro in the near future. I do believe that the capture delay could be fixed with a software update, and hopefully, Eufy sees this review and has their engineers look for a solution to make their devices an even more compelling surveillance system

 We also had to consider the fact that no exterior, electrical outlets were available to power said devices. We researched recommendations, anecdotes, and reviews for months in our search for the "best" with great security and reasonable prices. Ultimately, we purchased the Yale Assure Door Lock Touchscreen and Nest Learning Thermostat. We also installed a newer Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi system than the one I had been using and recommending since 2018

 The cameras looked professional, offered better-than-expected video quality, though night vision images of human faces were not quite good at greater distances. They were tack-sharp when closer to the devices, however.  I was also impressed by the flexibility offered by the Motion Detection and Privacy Zones that left the Kuna, Yi, and Canary behind in the dust. Virtually unlimited battery life for 10+ years

 They do not enlarge well. When the cameras are awoken out of their slumber, the picture quality sucks until it finally clears up. This wake up time varies from just a second or two, to a very irritating many seconds. Sometimes you only get just a few seconds of usable "footage" of an offense, and if the sleepy camera hasn't cleared up the image enough, the offense is not well captured

  The IR night vision covers our small yard very well at night - about 35 feet. But beyond that in the street where our vehicles park, it struggles. I HAD use use supplemental IR lighting in certain areas to get usable imagery. People walking laterally to the camera are rather blurry in very low to no light conditions

Full featured, great value and reasonably functionall

 The video quality from this camera is 2K, so it's not the highest video quality you can possibly get. But considering this is so easy to install, it's wireless, it's battery solar powered, it's really cool. The 2K is good enough for most people. And lastly, we need to talk about cost

 So this is a 2k camera. Now to give you an idea of what a 2k resolution is, it's just a little above 1080p, which is kind of the standard for battery powered cameras. And it's below 4k significantly below 4k, but many battery powered cameras aren't even talking about 4k yet. So it's got a pretty good resolution lens inside
