Morning all. When we all started WFH, the only option I had was using an old dining table, 90cm x 90cm for a desk, in the bedroom. I never thought it would be permanent. Well, I have a new job where I will be WFH all the time so want to create a nice workspace. The problem is I am really limited on space. The desk has to be in the bedroom (nowhere else). I think my ideal size will be 120cm x 60cm. I also want an adjustable standing to sitting desk.

One of the problems I have is monitor choice. I managed to get a 27" 5K Dell UP2715K monitor. It's a great quality monitor, lots of nice colours, a great size for working. The problem is it's very heavy! While some standing desks won't have a problem, I'd also prefer to have the monitor mounted on an arm. Mounting this one on an arm will be a bit of a pain. I also don't want my monitor to shake around as I type. Given the heavy duty monitor arms are expensive, I'm reluctant to start spending money to find the ideal one.

Would you stick with the monitor on a normal stand, or be more inclined to downsize the monitor? I could probably sell this and get a couple of lightweight 24" monitors. I'm happy working with one larger or two smaller monitors, both have advantages. 

Any desk recommendations would also be much appreciated. TIA.

 The build quality in and of itself, I mean, right, it's good metal. In comes Ergotron. Now, whenever I watched reviews, it was always Vivo would pop up, Mount, it would pop up here and there. Ergotron kept popping up too, but Ergotron was always the premium version cause they're expensive

 The other annoying thing, which is the second thing I found out later, is that whenever I wanted to use my desk to film overhead or to do some photography stuff, the monitor was always in the way. I can't like move it out of the way. I ended up looking at this other Vivo, a V100M and I had, I tried another V100, V001, V001M. There's a V001 prior to this one that was problematic for a number of reasons

 One, it stated that it held monitors up to like 17 and a half pounds. My monitor is like 15, 16 pounds. The tilt wouldn't hold and the other thing being that it's one of those arms that posts here and then has its arm come out, but it's not like the, I got to stop hunching down. So this V001 mount, this mount, this particular one that I have right now that I'm going to end up returning, it's a sort of upgraded version from the V001 that I had had prior to this one

 Now, whenever I watched reviews, it was always Vivo would pop up, Mount, it would pop up here and there.  You ever have one of those situations where you want to try and save money, but what are

 and save what you can, even though you can afford to spend a little bit more.

 So you try to find just what you need for the lowest price you could possibly find.

 And then it ends up just biting you and you end up having to spend the money anyway.

 That's sort of what happened to me this time.

 So pardon the mess, but this is my under construction workstation setup.

 I'm thinking maybe I'll do a video on it sometime soon to show my little workflow and how I'm

 trying to kind of use the space I have to make a functional and sort of office space

 Well, they're sort of like a flag type position where the pole and then you slip on the articulating

 arm and you can, you can sort of just that arm up and down the pole, but it sort of flexes

 But the main problem with this type of arm, obviously you're coming with certain restrictions

 or you're, you're, you're trading off certain things cause you're paying a lot less.

 I think this single mount arm was like 20 bucks and the other ones were like 30 something

 was well below the maximum weight limit, it stresses the arm and it leans.

 I felt like there were too many restrictions adding up on each other and I was just like,

 ah, there's not a lot of easy use with it.

 But even then that one, I cranked it all the way down until I couldn't tighten it anymore

 So these little things kept coming up or anytime I got one that was of economical value.
