The EPABO Contour Memory Foam Pillow is our favorite firm memory foam pillow. Although it isn't the least expensive on the list, we think it provides the best value. Unlike many of the adjustable pillows in this review, the EPABO pillow is filled with a block of polyurethane gel foam rather than shredded foam chunks. This makes the pillow far firmer and more similar to standard memory foam pillows. Although it's not completely adjustable, there is a ¾-inch thick removable panel in the middle of the pillow that, which when taken out, creates more of a cradle shape for your head.
While we like this as a firmer option, we think it could be improved with firmer edges. Other firm pillows did better at supporting our heads when we tried to read while lying on our side. Also, after repeated use, the cover fabric of the pillow began to pill. That said, this is a high-value product for those looking for a quality option on a limited budget.

 Customer service offered a full refund and for me to keep the pillow based on removing or changing my review, which I did not appreciate since I value honest reviews. I would rather return the pillow that didn’t work for me and get my refund and leave an honest review. However, I did adjust my review up a star since my original issues are no longer a concern (smell and size). I wish it helped my neck and shoulder pain as intended, but I did see upon rereading the info above (in small print) it says this pillow may not be helpful for severe cervical pain, a softer pillow may be needed

Chemical smell will go away

This pillow would probably work well if it was an inch or 2 taller. I have to put a towel under it to lift it more or I get terrible shoulder pain.

  Notes: I read the directions that arrived with the pillow and let it air out and fluff up on a flat, well-ventilated surface overnight. It had a slight smell to it when I first opened the package, but that completely disappeared the next morning. I did not immediately use the pillow the first night I received it so it could properly air out and fluff up to normal size. This seemed to be the key, based on other reviews of the smell and lack of thickness

I like the design of this pillow and it provides good support . I had never tried a pillow like this before and I am glad I did because it does improve support for my head and neck. I didn’t know if I would want to keep it so I ordered an inexpensive pillow. My only complaint is the depression for the head and neck is very shallow so I am constantly looking for it before putting it under my head

  About that caveat... I have been sleeping on a 5" Dunlop Latex Mattress Core (ILD 38) for nearly 20 years and enjoy the firmness and support of latex

 However, I want to cover a couple of things that stand out as exceptional about this pillow:  The FILL: This is, by far, the best fill I have ever seen. The "shreds" of latex are dense and responsive and those shreds are packed in a fibrous but soft poly-fill that contours and supports comfortably but never fully compresses.  The customer service: I'd give 5+ stars for this if I could. As I mentioned, because I'm a tall and heavy side-sleeper, I struggle with finding a pillow that has a high enough profile that doesn't compress

I was searching for a pillow that would support my head, and reduce my shoulder and neck pain in the mornings, and this has done a great job! I have had it for 2 weeks now, and already I'm noticing the positive difference. I struggle with tight shoulder and neck muscles in general, and I also carry a lot of stress there (esp. in my shoulders). Every morning I would wake up and my muscles would be tight and sore

 I am a side-sleeper, and regularly I'd have troubles getting comfortable and sleeping soundly with the pillows I was using. I've since discovered that the loft of both pillows I've had before were way too high for me. Since using this pillow, though, I have found the right adjustment for my body and sleeping position, and am very pleased with how comfortable it is and how much support it gives. The first two or three nights were a little rough, because I was experimenting with the loft in the pillow, but once I got it right, it has helped me sleep better and wake up relaxed and not sore

I was a bit surprised at the firmness of it (because the fill is so soft), but I'm actually really pleased with the support and comfort.   This could be it if I can get more latex filling from the company.  Also don't get the pillow case because for me it made the pillow more rough feeling and the softness wasn't the same so I am returning the pillow case. Just make sure to wash and clean your face before bed so you can keep the pillow clean! Since there really isn't a way to wash it properly.  I wish they made the pillow case out of the same cotton material as the pillow!! Then it would be perfect!!
