 You can block attacks to deflect incoming damage, or parry an incoming attack to open your opponent and deal critical damage. Magic is equipped much like weapons, and you can cast an array of destructive spells to destroy foes. Particular magic types, such as illusion and restoration spells, are used to supplement your offensive skills. The character-building RPG mechanics are what give the simple combat its depth, and it is through leveling that I had the most fun in Skyrim's realm

Bethesda has made no real changes to the base game aside from the new visual flourish. Water is much prettier than the shimmering pools of snot in the original Skyrim, for example. Occlusion is more noticeable, so rain and snow won't fall through overhangs. Z-fighting, the ugly texture flickering that often affected distant mountains and surfaces in the original game, is no longer an issue, either

 The world is overwhelmingly massive, and is chock full of monsters to slay, quests to undertake, dungeons to raid, and beautiful vistas to take in. Skyrim Special Edition improves the visuals, and makes the jump to 64-bit architecture, resulting in a slightly prettier and more stable video game than the original release. Unfortunately, Bethesda, the game's developer, made zero changes to the gameplay, interface, or presentation, so the same wonky AI, wooden NPCs, and laughable animations also appear in this game. To complicate matters, the 64-bit jump means that many of the complex, script-heavy mods created for the original release don't work in Skyrim Special Edition, leaving PC players with essentially a prettier version of the base game

These are all nice improvements, but I would have liked to see more beyond visual tweaks. Menu scrolling is still a tedious chore, so a better user interface would have been welcome. Likewise, improved animations would have enhanced the Skyrim experience, since characters and combat look rudimentary at best, especially when you shift into third-person view.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (for PC) Review

 No, unfortunately, for a dreadfully short main storyline when compared to the many, many side quests, I have to give it a 4.  Overall Score: 4.8 with a rated up score of 5.

 So the biggest lesson to be had from this, was I shouldn't have even glanced at the main storyline, until everything else was finished first. With regards, although the storyline was good, I can't give a ten in this case. No, unfortunately, for a dreadfully short main storyline when compared to the many, many side quests, I have to give it a 4.  Overall Score: 4

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, if just reading that name gets the The Elder Scrolls theme song stuck in my head, then I bet you know where I'm going to go with this. Especially since it is now also stuck in my head. Although I technically beat Skyrim some time ago, the number of quests and things to do keep me going back! Now, I originally started with a used copy of Skyrim for the PS3 (which this review is based on), but I have sense upgraded to the PC version, yes, upgraded. The PS3 version is great yes, but the PC version is far more versatile and allows for customization and expansion of the world the PS3 cannot give

 The character creation is also a lot more flexible, if I understand it, from earlier Elder Scrolls. It seems that in earlier games if you created your own character, ignoring the templates, there was a chance you would not be able to advance in the right skills to finish the game. In Skyrim your character can pretty much adapt and change and use any weapons, skills, or perks you want it to. Want to be a pure magic user, you can still win the game using nothing but magic

Best game i have ever played.

 You can cook, forge your own weapons and armor (if you have the skills and perks), which brings me to the skill system. Not only can you level your skills, like in the previous games, but you can select perks that make your skills even better.  The world is again a huge, open playing field, which is the reason I was drawn to the TES games in the first place. Skyrim's world is rough, raw and gritty, just like its inhabitants

 That'll take care of it.  Other stupidities, like drinking dirty water to heal, something you would never do in real life unless you were thirsting, happens in this game. It robs the player of the right to make meaningful choices that make sense in your quest to survive in the wasteland.  The game plays like this : Combat encounter, almost die, Open inventory, find the right items to eat, combat encounter

 enemies above you hiding on rooftops will shoot the crap out of you, and there really hard to manually spot and then hit thereafter... Unless you're using VATS

  Why can't you dual wield pistols to make them useful for close range combat? You know, good for fending off ghouls who try to eat you alive? I keep finding these pistols and have nothing to do with them.  Getting shot at by enemies you can't see or find : Sometimes it is hard / impossible to find enemies who are shooting at you. The AI will bullseye you right through bushes and trees. Vertical combat encounters are especially heinous

Failout 4:  Like chewing glass when you get hungry.  The quality keeps dragging you back in.

 I Once went on a desperate search for pencils so that I could extract their lead to use for radiation shielding. Fallout 4s Gunplay feels like a good quality first-person shooter, to the point where you could comfortably avoid vats autotargeting if you wanted to. But I didn't because these slow-motion dismembering kills are still great rewards for a job well done. Plus Although that slows time, that doesn't completely stop it so the pressure is still on and intense fights and a new manually activated critical strike system and the ability to cancel out of vats at any time give a touch of much-needed control over these events may lazed a little bit simplistic, though, Relative to follow three, Palo Fours characters are more jack-of-all-trades in their combat abilities

 Well, bethesda must have heard me, b/c now instead of pausing, it just slows the game down, so you can still take damage.  Skill Tree: I understand that people don't like this, but really, it's the same darn thing as you had before. the only difference is, you don't work your way up to them, you can pick which one you want at any time, so long as you have the SPECIAL points invested in it. And since you can level each of these perks (they start with three to five blank stars that you can put more points in as you increase level), I don't see what the fuss is about

  Combat: Another thing bethesda improved upon. The guns feel and handle nicely, and if you are good at FPS, you will have fun and not need VATS. I'm enjoying my modded 10mm a lot right now.  VATS: I normally hate VATS b/c you shouldn't be able to pause in-game to take a shot
