Use a Sword and shield and chip away at your foes. Use a long reaching spear and great shield to avoid the enemies attacks , pick up a massive war hammer and swing it wildly to crush your enemies, or why not use two scimitars and dance around the battlefield and cut them to shreds. Don't like melee? Become a sorcerer and cast spells at them. Or use a bow or crossbow

They can't fight other than a few shots every now and then without being directly controlled. They can't pick up effective weapons without being directly told to. If they run out of ammo, they usually pick up a plasma pistol with 50 other better weapons at their feet. The plasma pistol would be moderately effective of they actually pulled the trigger more than once every 5-10 seconds
