Really heavy. The bindings and boots you picked are par for the course looking at double-duty gear, but those skis are heavy even for dedicated alpine use. Would recommend something more like a Head Kore or Elan Ripstick if you really want one setup for everything. Also, I'd go down a width or even two

I am planning to take the splunge and put together an alpine/touring set up from my trips to NH/VT as well as out west in UT/CO. I expect to hit 70% resorts and 30% backcountry areas. I currently have a beater pair of rossi sky 7s and looking for a bit of upgrade to get a much larger taste of the backcountry. How well do you think my below powder snow touring set up looks:

Elan Ripstick 96 2023 Ski Review

 Hi, I'm Nick from Snow Tracks. I'm one of the ski testers. Welcome to our 2023 product reviews

 It's a fantastic ski for getting out there and enjoying yourself in a variety of conditions

 And one of the unique things about this ski is the asymmetrical design. So you'll notice straight away

 There's a right on this ski and if I grab this one here, you can see it's got a left on it

 So important that you're on the right ski or the left ski

 Otherwise, you won't get the pure performance of the ski

 so the main thing I'm going to talk about is the the carbon tech and the

 There's carbon running through the ski, which just means that we can make it more lightweight

 So it's it's actually quite light but keep that performance

 They've also strategically placed the carbon up the inside edge of the ski

 So to give it the power onto the inside edge. So when you're turning you want the inside edge to give you all the grip

 And that's where the performance comes in on the outside of the ski

 They actually rocker profile so it's not actually fully the same either side

 You've got rocker on this side and more camber this side so that adds to that performance

 So that inside edge really bites and the outside lifts up

 So it just means that when you're skiing off-piste and in the softer snow conditions

 You're getting lots and lots of lift on the outside edge

 And when you're on the piste you're getting that performance where you need it and it's a lovely profile and it works really really well

 Our testers myself included, you know, we've taken it through a variety of train and we just think it makes it so so versatile

 So that's one of the key words I use about this ski is versatility

 So if you're looking for something to do absolutely everything you want to get the maximum amount of performance in the off-piste

 But still get bite on the on the piste and in between sort of runs then this really really works really well

 We've been very very impressed with it. This is the 96 version. The 88 is just sat here and just grab one of those

 And it's just a narrow version. So more piste orientated more sort of, you know

 Aspirational to get off in the softer snow conditions. So that's the Alain ripstick range. And yeah, we're really really impressed with this

I personally have 2 setups, the same ski/binding as yours, and the Ripstick 96 with pin bindings for the less than optimal snow days. If you don't have a second set, the all around is better unless you are sure you will only go backcountry on the powder days. As for boots, go to a bootfitter, do NOT get boots that look good from online reviews just because of those reviews. The bootfitter will hear your needs, measure your foot, and that will give you the best boot

Hi, I have decided to upgrade my skiing setup and I wanted to hear some oppinions :) I am skiing in the backcountry and I am always searching for powder and also ski a little bit of piste.

I am 187cm tall and about 75kg.
