The canister Max Fill is about half what the upright's was, so I need to empty it twice per use rather than once - no biggie. I like that the dirt/hair/debris all finds its way to the bottom of the canister so emptying it is quick and tidy. I'm startled by how much dirt/dust/hair/fur/debris this baby picked up (I vacuumed the place with the old Dyson just 3 days ago, yet the canister was full - twice (of course, I haven't cleaned the upright's filter recently))! I'm delighted with how clean the brush head is afterward! I appreciate that the head is more maneuverable than the upright's in getting into smaller spaces, and the articulating handle makes it even easier! I like the trigger for releasing suction - very handy! I love the quieter sound. I love the two-headed attachment that's a brush and a crevice tool in one

Blah vacuum, but sadly, still the one that fits my needs best.

Also, the tiny plastic protrusion off the canister lid that is supposed to click into place after emptying and shutting the lid is mega flimsy. Unbelievably sub-par for a Dyson. I'd expect more from the market leader. After several vacuums in my house (I went from an Electrolux Ultrasilencer for all bare floors a few years ago, which worked great for that purpose, to a Shark liftaway upright in mostly carpet, which was ok, but heavy and broke after 3 years, then I had an Electrolux Corded Ultra Flex, which is an awesome vacuum, but has the stupidest design for their dirt canister that one could possibly come up with and now I had it and bought this expensive Dyson) I am settling for this thing

The suction is the same as my Shark Rocket with a clean filter. It get's stuck on corners and I have to manually move it. The tools that come with it aren't that great. When I empty the bin the door sometimes don't latch and I have to force it to lock in position

Now when I press detach I hold the bottom lid carefully so it doesn’t spill over.beaodes that the accessories are more than enough and overall looks fantastic and the self balancing and longer retractable cord are a plus. I don’t know if my canister is malfunctioning but I rather give it a five.

Wonderful vacuum -- don't bank on the color though

I'd just like to add how impressed I am with the filters. Oh, and the product description claims this is 'Petrol' color, but despite dropping this much money on a vacuum I gather you get whatever they send. In my case it was 'Pacific Blue,' which is closer to green than blue. I don't care, but just FYI!

and then you look at the purchase price and the fact that no one would even buy it for pennies on the dollar at a garage sale. I am on a fixed income and divorced my wife after 38 years so that I would be able to spend the end years of my life in a clean house. I guess on higher priced models you can get this but again this is where it is confusing to pick out the model you need. Overall I think it was a bit expensive for a vacuum and for not having the powered handle/floor piece (sorry I can't remember what it is called). At this price you would think it is a high end vacuum but for the Miele line I guess it is only mid-range.
