 Welcome to our 2023 ski test. Today we're talking about the Dynastar M-Free 90. This is a new addition to the M-Free category or collection of skis. It is now the narrowest ski in that line and really cool, it kind of follows the same trends of the collection

 I think that's kind of important to call out about this ski is it does have more of a directional shape and more of a directional feel. So if you're like spending 80% of your time in the park, there probably are better options for you. Even I would say that M-Free 99 might actually be a better option for you and that's for a true dedicated park skier. But if you're just a playful all-mountain skier and you like to enjoy everything the resort has to offer, but you also like to go in the park, I think this is a good choice and a little bit better for kind of a developing park skier than that M-Free 99

 You know, pop off little natural hits here and there, you can carve some turns, but it's not locked into a turn shape. You can go ski some moguls, you can go ski some trees. There's a lot of stuff you can do on the M-Free 90 here. Certainly not as strong or as powerful as an M-Pro 90, but we're really talking about kind of two different worlds here where that ski leans more towards power and vibration damping and overall stability at speed

 This leans more towards playfulness and responsiveness and energy and all that stuff. So great new ski. I think it's a valuable addition to Dina Starr's line in general. Let us know if you have any questions about it and we'll see you out there on the hill

 Hey skiers, I'm Jeff from SkiEssentials.com.

 Today we're talking about the Dynastar M-Free 90.

 This is a new addition to the M-Free category or collection of skis.

 It is now the narrowest ski in that line and really cool, it kind of follows the same trends

 But there are some differences to it, not just the narrower waist width, we see a slightly

 Very very similar construction, so we still get the hybrid core in these skis.

 That is a mixture of wood and polyurethane.

 They position the polyurethane along the edges so you're benefiting from a little bit more

 vibration damping when you have this ski up on edge in a turn.

 Especially noticeable on really firm snow and really just smooths out the ski overall.

 Pretty lightweight and it's not like a super demanding stiff flex in these skis.

 You do get a little bit more give to it than you would see especially in the tail of an

 Now I talked about the difference in shape and really probably the most noticeable thing

 and the most important thing, differentiating this ski from say the M-Free 99 or the M-Free

 108 is we don't get quite as much rocker, which makes sense.

 We're down in the 90mm width range here.

 You don't need a tremendous amount of splay in this width.

 So what that's doing is it's taking away a little bit of its soft snow performance so

 it's not as surfy or as smeary and softer deep snow as a ski like the M-Free 99 or especially

 the 108, but it's still pretty darn agile with that relatively light construction method

 and we still do see a decent amount of tip and tail rocker in this ski.

 It's hands down still a very playful ski.

 It just kind of leans more towards the energy and responsive side of the spectrum rather

 than the slarvey, smeary, surfy feel of the wider M-Free skis.

 I would say probably the best choice in Dynastar's current collection if you spend a lot of time

 I think the M-Free 99 is the other ski that I would use for that application, but a little

 narrower, a little quicker edge to edge in this ski.

Updating a top-selling model is risky business, but we think Nordica nailed last year’s revamp of the Enforcer line. The mid-width “94,” which replaced the outgoing 93-millimeter ski, is our favorite of bunch thanks to its sturdy yet fun personality. Notable tweaks to the design, including greater use of carbon fiber and a lighter-weight front end that features less plastic and more wood, increased versatility. The result is that the ski has lots of pop as you combine turns on and off trail, grips exceptionally well on hardpack, and still can put a lot of power down with two sheets of metal. In a very crowded field of all-mountain options, the Enforcer’s do-everything character puts it at the top of our 2022 rankings.

In testing the ski, one standout trait we kept coming back to was its natural and predictable performance. From the very first run, we felt completely comfortable: the ski is surprisingly easy to turn, excels at a range of speeds, and hits a sweet spot in width for true coast-to-coast appeal. On all but the deepest days—during a late-season storm cycle, we did find ourselves wishing for more floatation—the Enforcer is a great match. The Nordica Enforcer 94 is our favorite ski for carving and ranks well overall in our all-mountain lineup. The Enforcer 94's Carbon Chassis and TWO Sheets of metal combine to create our favorite blend of edge grip, rebound, and overall precision while carving at higher speeds. Coming in at a versatile turn radius of 17.1 meters, we found it intuitive in shorter SL and longer GS turns. While the Enforcer is ideal for carving on the groomers, it also provides excellent versatility across the mountain in all snow conditions.
The adjustments made for the 2021-2022 model include Nordica's Carbon Chassis and True Tip technologies. Along with a slightly wider 94-millimeter waist width, the Enforcer 94 gains slightly better off-piste performance than its predecessor's 93-millimeter width underfoot. Despite these improvements, this ski can be challenging to pilot through heavy or deep powder. Skiers spending lots of time in softer or deeper snow may be better suited with a ski that is wider. But for the more experienced skier looking to tip and rip across most snow conditions, look no further than the Enforcer 94.
