I have had a large digit LED clock near my TV for several years, but that clock was very complicated to update due not being intuitive and to having numerous features that I never needed (day, date, year, 2 time zones, etc). Changing from Standard to Daylight time usually ended up taking a half hour and created a lot of frustration. I finally threw that clock in the garbage, and ordered this "DreamSky Compact Digital Alarm Clock" from Amazon. I decided on this clock as a result of reading numerous reviews that said it was easy to set - and it is! Setting it the first time took just seconds, and that is without even looking at the included instructions

 This clock is good looking and compact. I especially like the continuously variable brightness level you set with an analog rotary dial. Overall verdict: This clock is a winner!

 Very very simple setting. The alarm is very similar. hold and press alarm set and we're using this time indicator down here. So I'm waking up at 6 00 am

 So to change the time, all we do is hold and press time, set the first button as this flashes see the minus and plus buttons, just press them as appropriate. Say I'm on the hour, press it again, time set and it goes to minutes and again minus or plus. Very very simple setting. The alarm is very similar

 It takes three batteries, it has indoor temperature and to change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit or vice versa, you just press right there. See now it's 86 degrees Fahrenheit. I can increase this a little bit. You can switch that back and forth right there

 Originally purchased November 2019. This was my review then. The time display was much bigger than what I wanted. Recently my cable company forced me to upgrade to a different cable box - the old one had a digital time display - the new one DOES NOT

 I am a sensitive to light and noise sleeper. Being able to turn the brightness to super low or off is amazing. I can adjust the alarm as well. Because I wake up at the sound of a mouse farting, being able to turn the sound low to allow my husband to sleep is great

This later feature will help you keep on the good side of those sleeping nearby as they won't have to listen to your alarm blaring while you saw logs. We appreciate the adjustable alarm volume and the customizable snooze. 
While the Sonic Bomb could be a standby in the modern necromancer's tool kit, its operation is no mystery. It lacks adjustability in the color and brightness of the text. Adjustments to both the time and alarm are one way, and there is not a nightlight or a radio. However, it does have a redundant power supply using both batteries and a cord, so your time and alarm settings will be saved when the unit is unplugged or the power goes out. All in all, this is a solid alarm for heavy slumberers.

I don’t think it NEEDS to look like a bomb, though I get the marketing gimmick. But if they were to come out with something more traditional tomorrow, I’d gladly buy it and give this one to a friend. It’s really messed up the scheme on my bedside table
