The Alchemist Whaler would be great for someone who wants a ski that's a little more substantial and can hold up to some higher speeds

 It has quite a bit of early rise rocker in the tip and just a little bit in the back but a decent amount compared to most skis. It also has a pretty solid camber underfoot which is one thing that is really nice when you're carving on the ski and getting it on edge. It initiates a turn really easily.  My name is Jake Parker and today I'm testing the DPS Whaler 100 with the

 Alchemist construction. I don't work for DPS at all this is just a personal

 review of my time on this ski. So the Whaler 100 is a do-it-all west coast

 all-mountain ski. This is the Alchemist construction which means that this

 version of the Whaler has a lot more carbon in it and so it's a more

 expensive ski. With that comes some weight savings and also some stability

 at high speed. I'll go on a limb and I think that this ski is worth $1,200. This

 is the type of ski that I would ski every single day of the winter if I only

 had one pair. It's exceptionally easy to ski but can hold up to any expert skier

 no problem. DPS Whaler comes in a bunch of sizes. This is the 100 millimeter

 waist version. It has quite a bit of early rise rocker in the tip and just a

 little bit in the back but a decent amount compared to most skis. It also has

 a pretty solid camber underfoot which is one thing that is really nice when

 you're carving on the ski and getting it on edge. It initiates a turn really

 pick. I personally am a huge fan of DPS skis. They're made in the US. They have

 top-notch construction and durability. I have several friends that have owned

 pairs for years now and they hold up great so I was very excited to ski this

 and I will be trying out a few more pairs of DPS skis over the next couple

 days. The Whaler is an exceptionally versatile ski but it's definitely not

 At 95mm underfoot, the Dictator 2.0X is a versatile off-piste performer that's more than capable in deep snow but you might want something a little wider if you're heading in the direction of Japanese powder. All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2

0X is a classic freeride, flat tail ski that demands to be skied with power, commitment and grandes cojones (or the female equivalent). With two layers of Titanal surrounding a lightweight poplar/paulownia core, the Dictator 2.0X has been built with strength and stability in mind and delivers excellent edge hold if you fully commit to the carve.          

 All in all, a really solid, if not particularly playful ski that will satisfy powerful, confident female skiers. Whilst it definitely requires a solid drive, if you like to be in the front then you'll be pleased with how the Dictator 2.0X responds.
