The DJI Air 2S is our top pick for most drone users. It strikes a great balance between features and price, and in some cases outperforms much more expensive models. Its small size makes it good for travel, yet it's intuitive enough for anyone to fly.
Most notably, the Air 2S includes a camera with a 1"-type sensor, a feature previously reserved for models costing hundreds of dollars more. It captures 5.4K/30p video and 20MP photos in Raw or JPEG format, and DJI's Smartphoto feature uses computational photography techniques to deliver very high quality images. A new feature called Mastershots will even shoot a series of video clips and automatically edit them together for sharing. Pilots are aided by DJI's APAS 4.0 (Advanced Pilot Assistance System), which uses obstacle avoidance sensors to navigate around objects in the drone's path.

 Hands down, the best value is the Mavic Air 2. I stress value since the other drones arguably have more capabilities but I am a casual flyer; not a professional or for profit flyer.  For a quick rundown, the issues with the Spark are its short flight time. It seems every time I just got into flying, it was time to change the battery

I've owned a DJI Spark since 2017 and was in the market to upgrade. I considered the Autel Evo II, Skydio 2, Mavic 2 Zoom and Mavic Air 2. Hands down, the best value is the Mavic Air 2. Great upgrade from Spark and good starting drone for beginners

 But that's a really long flight time for one battery and these batteries are not that big which is great if you're out on the go and you only want to take two. You get almost an hour of flight time, which is more than enough for most occasions even when I'm out doing stuff like this. The next great thing about this thing is The half-inch sensor right here. The half-inch sensor gives you a lot of really good image quality, especially when you're filming in 4k

 Pro In every situation I've thrown, including pretty high winds like up to 25 30 miles an hour, it's had no problem. In fact, right where we're sitting, I'm sitting down on the ground behind a big rock because there's about a 30 mile an hour wind that I've been. But everything I Filmed today, this drone has had no prob at all. Another great thing that I'm so glad DJI upgraded from the original navigator was putting Aki Sync 2

 First, let's talk about the strengths of this drone. One of the best things about this is that it has a 34 minute flight time was what DJI says, but realistically, it's closer to about 27 to 29 minutes depending on how you fly it. But that's a really long flight time for one battery and these batteries are not that big which is great if you're out on the go and you only want to take two. You get almost an hour of flight time, which is more than enough for most occasions even when I'm out doing stuff like this

 Impressively good video. The only place where the Mavic 2 Pro probably does a little better is in very low light, but I've been surprised at how well this does in low-light even on its own on photo quality. It gives you 48 megapixel photos because of the way the sensor in here is designed. It's a quad bayer sensor, so it gives you essentially four times the 12 megapixel, but it gives you four times that for the photos

Mavic Air 2 Review: It's Great but...

 Reaching near 6 miles might be possible in a perfectly flat and clear area. I flew it 1400m (4900ft) away before it lost reception-I think It could have gone further if I had not let the drone fly in area with a portion of the mountain obstructing my view. I will test this more in the future. 11

 Cannot fly in restricted zones-period. So, no flying in your apartment if your home is within a restricted zone. 6. It maybe capable of recording 4k @ 60fps but only 30fps when in HDR 7

 lol. 8. It has a fixed aperture-Thankfully a f/2.8 (con and a pro I suppose); I think there is a way to control shutter speed and ISO

 I have used hyperlase a handful times, but cannot find 8k option. 5. Cannot fly in restricted zones-period. So, no flying in your apartment if your home is within a restricted zone

 It allows you to move the drone as it lowers to land. It will stop and hover at a safe distance from landing site and prompt you to initiate final landing procedure. When your happy with where it will land, just press okay on the prompt and it will drop softly to the ground. really intuitive

I do not regret buying it. :D I get excited to use it and beginning to love it.

 The phone clamp does a much better job. The phone really feels attached to the controller. (Yes you can shake it and your phone won't fall out). One of my favorite features of the new controller is the quick button trigger for photos

First off, the package arrived exactly when it said it would. I opened the box and was blown away by just how much fit in that tiny bit protective little bag. I bought this used because the shipper had listed it at quite a discount. My hat is off to the seller, the drone and all batteries looked basically brand new! The charger even still had the plastic on it! DJI truly is amazing! It was a bit difficult to get set up, but after that WOW! I have 7 other drones but this is my first DJI

1 year update: Drone and photos are awesome, but the batteries keep getting worse! They have a chip in them to make them discharge, and keeps a record of how many times they have been charged. I hate picking up the drone, only to find that the batteries are at 50% or less, after only a few days from being 100% charged! They are designed to only allow xxx amount of re-charges. Guess this is their way of making you purchase mor $100.00 batteries

  6 month update: After hours of flight time, the only real complaint I have is the battery life. Fully charged you get 25-30 minutes, but if they've been sitting around for a week, you get 10-15 minutes at best. The batteries automatically deplete themselves over a period of several days to around 50-60%. The camera is great, video great, new update with zoom and obstacle avoidance is a great improvement, but the batteries draining is a big issue

 #2 and My biggest issue is with the batteries. You will NEVER get 30 minutes of flying time if you do not fly immediately after charging the batteries. After being fully charged and stored in the case, a week later the batteries are down to a 50%-60% charge. The longer you wait to fly it, the more the batteries will automatically discharge

 In normal wind conditions, it's solid as a rock. -Solid battery life. I'm averaging 23-27 minute flights in Sport Mode, flying up to 40mph in some cases. The extra 2 batteries that come with the Fly More combo ensure that you'll have plenty of juice to get those shots you're after

, due to its weight. If you don't want to have to register your drone, look at the Mini. Otherwise, it's $5 for a 3-year registration that covers all applicable drones. -4k-60fps doesn't work with tracking modes, but if you're shooting 4k-60, you're probably flying manually anyway for those buttery slow-motion shots

 -Fantastic image quality. 4k-30fps with HDR video really shines and allows for professional-quality cinematic shots even without post-processing. The included ND filters are a nice touch for those days when the sun is being a pest. Still images are also crystal clear and very high definition

  Notable pros: -Price. At the time of this writing, the Mavic Air 2 with Fly More Combo is $789, which is actually cheaper than the regular Air 2 without the combo. Even the regular price of $988 is very reasonable with everything that comes in the Fly More package. -Obstacle avoidance sensors (front, back, and bottom) work extremely well for most objects

Best bang-for-buck for most UAV needs

  The new controller is nicely streamlined. It appears to have joined the phone holder and antennae into one piece, which is great. It’s easier to install the phone on the new controller than the previous models because the controller clamps down on the sides of the phone that don’t have the lightning connector. I also appreciate the iPhone being placed above the controller

 They’ve put a new sensor into the Mavic air 2. The quad bayer chip is an upgrade from previous sensors. I think this may not help the resolution so much as the camera’s ability to see a wider range of light and dark. HDR mode is one of the benefits of the quad bayer sensor

 Right away, when I turned it on, I saw that there were planes heading my way. Frankly, if I’m flying a mile away—which I have with this drone—knowing all the hazards around me is essential. I don’t want to endanger people and I don’t want to lose a drone that I’ve spent good money on.  Overall, I think this drone is a good choice for shooters who need a quick and small drone but don’t have the resources for a bigger drone like the inspire 2

 I’ve flown it probably 8 times so far and have a few things to report. Right out of the box, two things occurred to me. This is a smaller mavic pro with some nice enhancements. The bag that it comes with is well designed and the whole package fits nicely in a smaller space

If you don’t want to spend as much for the mavic 2 pro, this is a great alternative
