Deuter Speed Lite 20 Pack vs Patagonia Arbor Classic Pack 25L

The previous version had 2 upper and 2 lower compression straps- these offered a very useful way to provide extra security to large water bottles, and to strap on picnic blankets etc. Unfortunately the new version only has the upper straps, the straps are more narrow, and there is no abrasion-resistant flap reinforcing the compression strap attachment points. Samples I have seen in store feel much more sloppily sewn and the fabric feels cheaper.

Black/topo print Kavu Rope Sling. I LOVE this little guy. I can fit my 1L water bottle or my mirrorless camera in here, which makes it a great roadtripping/adventure buddy.

It’s very lightweight but it lacks even the most basic attachments that I find useful. I do t care for the waist belt, it’s off set. Overall it’s fine for casual urban/local hikes but carrying the ten essentials, food and water strains this pack due a total lack of structure.

This backpack is so spacious! I have primarily been using it for hiking/camping and climbing. It can fit all the gear I need and then some. It's very durable and seems like it would hold up well in rainy/wet conditions.

The ventilated 3D-AirMesh do it's work when I'm riding my bike. You can carry your MacBook Air 13 inside.

I just wish the laptop sleeve area was a bit bigger. I had to squeeeezeeee my 13 in. laptop in. Snug, but it fit!

I recommend getting a hydration bladder because the pack really isn't big enough to accept your 32oz Nalgene. Hope this was helpful. Enjoy :)

I needed a new backpack for school, I hadn't bought one in almost 5 years so I've been waiting and waiting to find the perfect one. This is definitely it! It's perfectly fits my laptop and books without being too clunky or heavy. I was worried about the size being a little too small but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's a really great size! I'm happy I found this on sale, since Patagonia is usually so expensive.

The rest of the main compartment is a top load bottomless pit, so use those packing cubes people! The interior lining color differs from pack to pack depending on the exterior color you choose. However, Patagonia made sure to use different color exterior and interior colors, which we found really helpful when searching for gear inside the pack.
