Deuter AC Lite 24 Pack - Men's vs Osprey Daylite Plus Pack

With a light load for a simple walk in the woods, or just everyday running around, it might work. But after loading it up with a couple liters of water, food, and gear for the day, the thinness of the shoulder straps and the stiffness of the stitching on the mesh back panel didn't feel as ergonomic as I needed them to be for a solid day hike. Things were digging in and not sitting right. Part of this might also have been a personal fit issue, maybe it just didn't fit my back right

As mentioned in another review, the shoulder straps are on the thinner side. I didn't find them uncomfortable but I could see them being less than ideal if you are really loading this pack up with weight.

-I find the cross straps also annoying, they feel in the way when you're trying to pack things and hurry quickly and I largely use them to secure the water bottle since it falls out due to the instability of this pack but its very annoying to need to clip each time when you're just trying to access the main compartment for your jacket when the stash pocket on front doesn't fit a jacket in the first place

I absolutely love my new Deuter - AC Lite 24 hiking pack!! The color is super cute, but it's the size of the backpack that appeals the most to me. Slender, just fits my back perfectly for those short day-hikes I enjoy with my dog. It's very lightweight which is an added bonus! I've had 2 separate people stop me to ask for details about my Deuter - AC Lite 24 pack, one of them asked to try it on, to which I gladly obliged and gave her the info on where to find one for herself.

* Osprey Daylite *PLUS* 20L. * My personal favourite so far, but fitting it in my main bag + all the other gear is my concern.

This backpack has a very large, accommodating pocket on the side. I love the waterproof rainfly to keep my dry stuff dry! When I chose this backpack I didn't notice that it was made specifically for women, but even so, it fit me very well. The mesh on the back to allow airflow is AWESOME! I was pleasantly surprised when I opened it up to find safety, first aid and CPR information printed discreetly under the upper flap. I have never seen this featured on any other backpack! Overall, it is very comfortable to wear, has ample space and lots of pockets to keep all of my gear safe and secure
