You cant even play single player without being on the web, when my internet came back the next day I installed Diablo 3 and entered the product key, as soon as I went to enter the key for Reaper, the Blizzard server went down and I couldnt! I tried going to support to do a chat or get a phone call from them, that was a nightmare and all the support links would crash except getting a call

Combat is not as crisp as traditional first person shooters but if you've ever fired a gun in a game before, you know what you're doing in this game.

This creates an in-combat player economy that breaks the typical model of `expend resource, run around waiting for it to replenish'. The cooldowns, stuns, knockbacks, area of effects, etc. are all well thought out and balanced for a gameplay experience that maintains interest beyond the pure `must make progress, receive immediate gratification' aspect of replayability. Which is good, because to achieve that gameplay design they had to sacrifice the traditional point system of character design - you no longer choose what skills and attributes to invest in as you level, but instead, like MMOs, each level you gain access to new skills according to the development schedule
