 The polk audio PSW 10 is not really even a true subwoofer. It'S more of a large low end, mid-range just kind of you know cheap Rumble box and that's about all it is, whereas the Polk Audio PSW 10 is actually or I'm sorry, not a Polk Audio psmt 10.  You really start to hear it and then here it starts to get Bumi and then this you know, will on your walls, rattle so crossover. I use the low frequency. I figure what they call it LFE, so you're supposed to set the crossover to maximum, and then you control your crossover on your receiver so set this to maximum. If you're going to use this port and then adjust the settings on your receiver for crossover these, these are a nice option

 You know you know how it is guys, write the wife approval factor, anyways um. Let'S look at the back here, get a little closer. You have gain control right now. I'Ve been kind of dialing it in and I have it almost up to maximum and it sounds pretty boomy, but i'd say you want to be at least there, because between minimum and halfway there's barely any difference once you get to about here

The Best Budget Subwoofer

Nothing brings realism to recorded sound like deep, authoritative bass. Yet, most affordable systems are compromised in this critical region. For the sub1010, the rich, powerful bottom octaves are fundamental—literally—to the life of music and movie soundtracks when it comes to reproducing the full spectrum of instruments and sound effects.

Yes, I've heard bad subwoofers before, but I'd rather have a Jamo or Elac Sub1010 than no sub at all. And yes I do agree premium subwoofers do sound better than a budget subwoofer.

  This Elac sub is a cheaper sounding bass but it has a 10 inch subwoofer and it move the air more than a 5.25inch woofer. If you play with the settings and blend this sub with the JBL530, you can add more bass to the JBL530 without letting the cheaper sound/bass of the Elac from taking over and over powering the sound experience. If set just slightly too high, you get an unatural constant rumbling boom during moments when it is supposed to be quiet or when there is suppose to be ambient dramtic sound track or environmental effects

 If you play with the settings and blend this sub with the JBL530, you can add more bass to the JBL530 without letting the cheaper sound/bass of the Elac from taking over and over powering the sound experience. Definitely adds punch and boom to your system. I have the JBL530 bookshelf speakers as my main speakers in my system. The base sound of the JBL530 are perfect sounding as it has the clear and sharp thump, punch, rumble, and some boom. It is not dull distorted bass at all

 But the 5.25 inch woofers can only move the air so much and in order to get a little room vibrating/shakimg bass, you have to turn it up very loud.  This Elac sub is a cheaper sounding bass but it has a 10 inch subwoofer and it move the air more than a 5.25inch woofer

 The subwoofer’s compact size is also perfect for my room. I highly recommend the Elac 1010 10 inch active subwoofer to anyone looking for a subwoofer for use as I described. ,

 I got a very satisfactory bass response that balanced nicely with the Edifiers and complimented the entire sound. The Elac1010 doesn’t produce window rattling bass but nor did I want that, but it produces naturally sounding low frequencies that can be heard and felt . In my estimation it performs perfectly in my relatively small bedroom and in a very musical way. I haven’t figured out yet how to couple my TV which has an optical output, into the mix but I’m sure there’s a way

 I coupled the Elac 1010 subwoofer with my turntable (U-turn Orbit and Ortofon M2 Blue cartridge with a Schitt Mani phono preamp) with my Edifier S1000db via a Rockville REQ231 graphic equalizer because the Edifiers have no subwoofer output. It’s also nice to have the equalizer to compensate for room characteristics and the deficiencies of some recordings. I fiddled with the adjustable frequency roll off on the back of the sub and the volume control. The 180 degree phase switch helped too

 Now such objective analysis doesn’t necessarily guarantee a satisfying listening experience but at least it offers relatively objective and unbiased basis for comparison. I chose the Elac basically for its compact size and the good reputation of the manufacturer. Good value and performance.

Elac subwoofer sounds nothing like I have ever heard before. This subwoofer is amazing but I would like some information on how to hook it up correctly. I currently have a Sony receiver with the Elac Debut 6.5 bookshelf speakers and a Cerwin Vega Center Channel

 Elac has great rep so $129 for small sub looks like quality and rep of Andrew Jones, took a chance. Man you are getting a bargain, once the word gets out this speaker will jump up in price as the go to subwoofer for a desktop or small space. Bass is clean tight low omnidirectional and turns audio into perfection. It will not replace SVS for big deep killer bass, but for small space provides perfect compliment to bookshelf speakers like NHT super zero's which are special too, driving off a topping MX3

 This is a bargain now get it before the secret is out. NHT super zero's are a special bargain also, loved my JBL studio speakers but these are amazing little speakers, but must have sub like Elac to fully appreciate. Combo is music heaven for me.

I wanted a small form factor to go with my Sony sscs5 speakers. It pairs well with them since you can dial in the cut off frequency. I wish it had a little more umph. But for a small home theater and occasional streaming it works great

Not a bad little sub

 I regret not spending another $30-$50 for a Klipsch like I have elsewhere. It was cheap but the sonics explain why at 120 watts. It’s not the 10” speaker that’s the problem, it’s just under-powered. Get something better
