 The polk audio PSW 10 is not really even a true subwoofer. It'S more of a large low end, mid-range just kind of you know cheap Rumble box and that's about all it is, whereas the Polk Audio PSW 10 is actually or I'm sorry, not a Polk Audio psmt 10. The Dayton audio sub 1200 is in fact closer to a true subwoofer, I'm going to go ahead and cover the differences between the two first and foremost the Dayton audio sub 1200 is a 12 inch sub, whereas the PSW 10 from Polk is a 10-inch sub. So right off the bat you're getting a larger sub, which, generally speaking, is better for range and low end response

Dayton Audio Sub 1200 Review Part 1

 You really start to hear it and then here it starts to get Bumi and then this you know, will on your walls, rattle so crossover. I use the low frequency. I figure what they call it LFE, so you're supposed to set the crossover to maximum, and then you control your crossover on your receiver so set this to maximum. If you're going to use this port and then adjust the settings on your receiver for crossover these, these are a nice option

 You know you know how it is guys, write the wife approval factor, anyways um. Let'S look at the back here, get a little closer. You have gain control right now. I'Ve been kind of dialing it in and I have it almost up to maximum and it sounds pretty boomy, but i'd say you want to be at least there, because between minimum and halfway there's barely any difference once you get to about here

 If you don't have a receiver, if you want to hook this up to like a pair of computer speakers that you already have your computer speakers would go or this the speakers from the from the amp, your speaker connections go in here and then out to your Speakers and then this is where you would use the crossover to kind of dial in what frequencies you want, the speakers to handle and what frequencies you want.  I mean cranking up like adding 15 decibels or whatever to your subwoofer on your amp, and then cranking this thing all the way up. That's about the only time you're going to hear anything close to that. Whereas the poke I used to have, it would just sit there and just splat all the time and produce that sort of hideous distorted sound. So what I've done with this subwoofer is I discovered something early on

 I've tried out a bunch of them, and they just produce that distorted splat sound that has about all the grace and accuracy of an old lady falling down the stairs. You're only going to get that with the Dayton Audio if you literally crank the heck out of everything on your amp, the amp on the sub. That's about the only time you're going to hear anything close to that

 And just to produce that sort of really deep, low-end rumble rather than just the standard 50 hertz rumble sort of thing. This is very good for home theater. I would say if you're into audio, for bass-heavy music, it's probably okay. But realistically, if you're wanting something that's just an incredible subwoofer for music, you're going to have to go much higher end
