Cuisinart WAF-300P1 vs Krups GQ502 4 Slice Belgian

The good: easy to clean, easy to use, the heat control is very good. The plates are easy to remove and easy to snap in place. It's nice that it comes with two plates. I use the pancake plates for grilled cheese sandwiches and it excels here

This waffle iron does what it's supposed to do but we bought it specifically because of the removable Dishwasher safe grid plates. Tired of scraping waffle bits and overflow out of the crevices of our old maker, this was supposed to offer the easy cleanup we were dreaming of. We make waffles just about every other Saturday morning and have had this maker for 8 months and the plates are oxidizing or something. This is an excellent waffle maker. Straight forward process, mix the batter, pour it onto the hot waffle iron, close it up and wait for it to beep. Consistently turns out good waffles. The plates are easy to pop out and wash as necessary

This waffle marker is great and easy to use! The book comes with helpful tips and delicious recipes my only complaint is; is that the handle get REALLY HOT so if you buy this be carful! Otherwise I would give it 5 stars all around!

First time it's heated up there is some vapor or steam coming off it, probably food-grade oils from production finishing, so wash it and let it heat up and then open to vent it before loading in batter the very first use. The bad reviews for this product are from idiots that either don't know how to take care of their things or just like to complain. Don't use oil, butter or cooking spray like some of these Dolts have, turn it on, let it heat, pour 1 1/4 cup of waffle batter in the center and close. Make sure the setting is at 4 1/2 for darkness. When it beeps, it's ready, it will not stick

The best thing we found to do is make the waffles, freeze them and then when we want one put them in the toaster oven for a few minutes. AND finally..

Use 1 1/2 C batter per 4 squares (load using 3/4 C measuring cup twice, 2 squares at a time) Close lid, wait for beep, remove using fork into side of waffle. Enjoy!

Also, the "alarm" on mine doesn't work. However, it does make a great waffle if you have a good batter recipe and learn how to time it. The recipe that came with it is OK, but I found a much better one from King Arthur Flour. After experimentation, I found my ideal time approximately twice what is stated

Also have no idea why this would need a dial setting, you just cook the waffles until the steam stops. Unnecessary extra features just for the sake of features. The $70 pricetag is excessive for what is essentially a $20 appliance. Not worth it in my opinion

I would NOT recommend this waffle maker at all, especially given the price. A basic intro waffle maker would be a better value. I don’t make waffles too often so it’s not that big of a deal, but I’m still bummed about my decision to buy this waffle maker because I’m never excited to eat the waffles from this machine.

the top of the waffle doesn't get as done as the bottom. this appliance is very cheaply made, the stainless steel feels like tinfoil, the waffle plates are very thin, the temperature dial seems like it's going to break off at any minute. overall; the waffles came out average, but inconsistent. the appliance didn't break but seemed like it would at any moment

This waffle iron feels flimsy and not well made, as evidenced by the malfunctioning alarm sound. I give it 2 stars because I like the depth and size of the waffles it makes and it is convenient to be able to remove the pans in order to wash them.

I thought I was missing 2 feet it arrived. I called customer service and was surprised as some of the other reviewers here were, to learn that this how this unit comes, with only 2 rubber feet. I couldn't believe it and the customer service rep really wasn't going to do anything about it, except said that is how it comes. What a poor design and the reason I am giving this review 3 stars as I wanted to give top stars as everything else has been great

I had it replaced under warranty, which was nice, but now the replacement waffle maker is doing the same thing. There seems to be a design defect with this waffle maker that causes the beeper to go bad, probably due to moisture from the steam.

I have used this iron about a dozen times now, and have come to really like it. You can too! First, butter the griddles when it's cold, then it is not necessary to do it again after that. To get the waffle to be brown on top, you MUST put in sufficient batter so that it has sufficient contact with the griddle plate! I used a one-cup measure, and QUICKLY poured one cup for each half of the griddle (I have the 4-waffle iron). Since I work quickly I don't really get to dump the entire cup, it works out to a bit less than ONE CUP PER 2 WAFFLES

Same thing happened. After 15 minutes, the maker said it was preheated. I had knob set on 3. When the first batch was done, they looked good but a little lighter than I prefer, so I turned knob up to 5 and when it preheated, I put in the second batch of batter

The WAF 150 only has waffle plates which cannot be removed. Neither iron can be used as a grill or to make grilled cheese sandwiches. While the irons look the same in size the WAF 150 is larger in both its exterior size and the size of the waffles it makes. It will make 4 square waffles that come out to one giant waffle that is 9 1/8” by 9 1/8” square and has larger dimples
